Job summary

Audubon Companies is seeking a Project Engineer to join the project execution team in Houston. The role focuses on managing technical aspects of multi-discipline teams and ensuring projects meet direction, commitments, and goals.

Ideal candidate has BS Engineering, 5+ years field construction experience, and leadership of complex projects. PMP/PE is recommended.

Qualifications

  • BS Engineering (or higher) is required.
  • ABET‑accredited institution preferred.
  • 5+ years of engineering and field construction experience.
  • Experience as lead engineer on medium/large multi‑discipline projects.
  • PMP certification recommended; PE license recommended.
  • Understanding of multi‑discipline deliverables, procurement and construction activities.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills; strong leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates exemplary communication and organizational skills.
  • Understands, follows, and enforces SEP’s.
  • Ensures proper sign-off on all deliverables.
  • Ensures deliverables are issued on schedule.
  • Prepares change order requests as directed by PM.
  • Coordinates change order estimates as directed by PM.
  • Reviews or creates meeting minutes from project meetings.
  • Produces project status reports.
  • Manages action item lists, RFIs, punch lists and close‑out items.
  • Facilitates internal and external project meetings if required.
  • Coordinates MOC efforts.
  • Develops/adjusts project support team workflows.
  • Facilitates multi‑disciplinary communication.
  • Resolves project audit deficiencies.
  • Administers development and issuance of project specs.
  • Resolves day‑to‑day project issues and emergencies.

Job description

Audubon is currently seeking a Project Engineer to join Audubon's project execution team. The Project Engineer's primary function will be to manage and oversee the technical aspects of multi-discipline execution teams and projects. The Project Engineer will be accountable for the overall direction, coordination, implementation, execution, control and completion of assigned projects ensuring consistency with company strategy, commitments and goals.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Demonstrates exemplary communication and organizational skills.
  • Understands, follows, and enforces SEP’s.
  • Ensures proper sign-off on all deliverables being issued. Spot checks for proper checking.
  • Ensures deliverables are issued on schedule.
  • Prepares change order request at the direction of PM.
  • Coordinates change order estimates at the direction of PM.
  • Reviews or creates meeting minutes from project meetings.
  • Responsible for project status reports.
  • Manages project action item list, RFI list, close‑out punch list etc.
  • May be required to facilitate internal and external project meetings.
  • Coordinates MOC efforts.
  • Develops/adjusts project support team level work flow processes.
  • Facilitates multi-disciplinary communication.
  • Resolves project audit deficiencies.
  • Administers the development and issuance of project specs.
  • Resolve day to day project issues/emergencies.
EXPERIENCE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS
  • Required: BS Engineering (or higher).
  • Preferred: ABET accredited institution.
  • 5+ years, engineering experience, field construction experience, experience working in the onshore oil and gas industry (preferred) or onshore gas processing, hydrocarbon storage and transportation, chemical manufacturing, or refining.
  • Experience as the lead engineer on medium and large multi‑discipline projects.
  • PMP certification recommended; PE license recommended.
  • Basic understanding of multi‑discipline deliverables, procurement and construction activities.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Strong team leadership capabilities.
