Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in STEM or equivalent technical field.
  • Passing the PE exam is preferred.
  • PMP certification or equivalent PM experience preferred.

YOU

As a Project Manager, Engineering Technology, you will play a pivotal role in managing diverse applications, enhancing workflows, and driving organizational efficiency, all while contributing to our mission to provide exceptional products and services.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING (% of Time)
  • Manage the Development and Lifecycle of Structural Engineering Applications (40%)

    Oversee the development, enhancement, and maintenance of a diverse portfolio of applications, including simple selector tools, robust desktop software, integrated web platforms, and internal enterprise solutions.

    Leverage your structural engineering expertise to ensure that each application meets business objectives, user needs, and technical standards.

    Guide the application lifecycle from intake and business case development through quality assurance, launch, and post-launch updates, including patches and enhancements.

    Continuously gather and analyze feedback to prioritize improvements, ensuring high usability, technical accuracy, and functionality.

  • Lead Cross-Functional Collaboration for Complex Projects (30%)

    Act as the structural engineering SME to facilitate communication and alignment among cross-functional teams, delivering high-impact solutions.

    Collaborate with stakeholders to identify needs, define project goals, and ensure alignment with strategic objectives across all application types.

    Balance resource allocation and schedules to support simultaneous development and maintenance of multiple applications, ensuring timely and efficient delivery.

  • Streamline Internal Engineering Applications (30%)

    Drive the creation, optimization, and deployment of internal enterprise tools to enhance the efficiency, organization, and innovation of engineering workflows.

    Identify opportunities to streamline internal processes, leveraging your expertise to implement impactful and sustainable improvements.

    Provide leadership in aligning internal tools with industry best practices to support long-term organizational success.

DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • B.S. degree in STEM or equivalent experience in a related technical field (required).
  • Passing the NCEES Principles and Practice of Engineering (PE) exam (preferred).
  • PMP Certification or equivalent project management experience (preferred).
  • Minimum 4 years of project management experience in engineering, software, or other technical projects.
  • Minimum 5 years of industry-related engineering experience in roles such as Designer, Design Engineer, Technician, or EIT.
  • Strong working knowledge of timber, concrete, and steel construction methods.
  • Familiarity with Simpson Strong-Tie products is a plus.
  • Effective communication skills, including the ability to write reports, develop correspondence, and deliver presentations to customers and internal teams.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to apply technical knowledge and common sense to resolve complex issues.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize competing deadlines, and maintain focus on quality outcomes.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively in cross-functional teams, fostering teamwork and building consensus among diverse stakeholders.
  • A proactive mindset, showing initiative and creativity in identifying and implementing process improvements while managing associated risks intelligently.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Teams, Word, and PowerPoint, with a willingness to learn and adapt to new software and tools as needed.
  • Proficiency in JIRA and Confluence for project tracking and team collaboration.
TRAVEL REQUIRED

This job requires domestic/international travel, 15% of the time.

WORK STATUS & LOCATION

This full-time, exempt position will be located in a local branch or may work remotely.

RELOCATION

Relocation is not available for this position.

PAY

$84,400 - $135,000 / year
