Job summary

Siemens in Raleigh, NC is seeking a Project Manager within Electrification & Automation to lead medium voltage projects from initiation to closeout. The role requires coordinating cross-functional teams across engineering, operations, and logistics in a matrix organization.

Hybrid work in Wendell, NC is preferred with relocation assistance possible. The ideal candidate has 3+ years in power distribution, experience with MS Project and Office, and a valid US driver’s license.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college.
  • 3+ years of experience in the power distribution industry managing medium voltage portfolios.
  • 3+ years of experience utilizing Microsoft Office and specifically Microsoft Project.
  • 1+ year of working with multi-disciplinary teams, including program management, services, engineering, operations, and logistics.
  • Must have a valid US Driver’s License.
  • Ability to travel up to 20% (domestic and international).
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship.
  • PMP certification preferred; PMP certification required within 1 year of employment.

Responsibilities

  • Direct all phases of projects from inception through completion.
  • Manage the cost, schedule, quality, and technical performance of the assigned project(s).
  • Establish milestones and monitor adherence to master plans and schedules.
  • Effectively communicate project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion.
  • Lead and drive multi-disciplinary and cross functional teams to ensure successful project execution.
  • Provide regular updates to team, management, and PMO on work performed, plans, budget, and overall status.
  • Identify project problems and obtain solutions, such as allocation of resources or changing contractual specifications.
  • Proactive risk identification and mitigation.
  • Manage customer expectations across project cycle and lead single and multi-product medium voltage solutions projects.
  • Direct diagnostics with the ability to determine root cause and corrective actions.

Electrification and Automation (EA) Business Unit offers the full range of
energy distribution systems and solutions for all markets and through all sales
channels. We provide reliable power distribution grids of today while investing
into our Future Grids portfolio and applications to create the power
distribution grid of the future. Our comprehensive portfolio meets the growing
technical requirements of todays and tomorrow’s power grid!

The
Siemens Project Management Office (PMO) is looking for a Project Manager (PM)
to join our team in Electrification and Automation (EA). The Electrification
& Automation business unit covers the entire spectrum for power
distribution systems and solutions as well as products for protection
technology, station automation, telecontrol technology, power quality, smart
communication and microgrids. As a PM, you will be responsible for the
successful execution of projects, from project initiation through final
closeout. You will work in a matrix style organization requiring excellent
coordination skills and the ability to manage competing priorities. The PM role
comes with ample opportunities for growth, reflective of Siemens’ mission to
empower people with a growth mindset. Thisposition will prefer candidates willing to work hybrid in the Wendell, NC area.Relocation assistance can be discussed.

  • Commitment to develop, drive, andmanage projects in a highly competitive market
  • Excellent written and verbalcommunication skills, to present complex issues to multi-level audiencesand effectively communicate progress, status and issues to internal andexternal Customers
  • Ability to interpret and reportresults to senior management as well as customer
  • Demonstrated ability in contract andchange management.
  • PMP certification as a plus
  • PMP certification is required within1 year of employment
