Job summary

Goodall Brazier Ltd. is seeking a Project Manager for DSA/K-12/Education projects in Southern California, with roles in Los Angeles, Orange County and the Inland Empire.

You will manage DSA-regulated work across civic, K-12 and higher education, collaborating with owners, architects and subcontractors. The position covers projects from preconstruction through closeout, with budgets typically in the $35M–$100M range and a growing local pipeline of $200M+.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a construction-focused field (e.g. CM, CET, CEM, CE or Architecture; associate degree not sufficient).
• Proven DSA experience in California (K-12, education or civic/municipal works).
• Hands-on buyout experience on at least one full project.
• Experience on projects from start to finish with stable tenure.
• Ground-up education or civic projects are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Manage DSA projects from preconstruction through closeout, including subcontract buyout.
• Lead procurement, bid levelling, subcontractor negotiation and contract administration.
• Own budget, cost control, schedule, change orders, RFIs and submittals.
• Navigate DSA regulations, inspections, approvals and certification requirements.
• Coordinate with owners, architects, inspectors and subcontractors, and run project meetings.
• Report project status and financials to senior leadership.
• Mentor assistant PMs and project engineers.

Project Manager – DSA/K-12/Education (Southern California)

Our client, an established California general contractor, is growing its Southern California team and hiring Project Managers for DSA-regulated work across civic, K-12 and higher education. Roles are available in Los Angeles, Orange County and the Inland Empire areas. A Senior PM-level hire is also being considered for these projects.

The client’s work typically ranges from $35M to $100M, with a growing pipeline of $200M+ in local project work. You’ll join a team with real room to grow as that pipeline converts.

Responsibilities

• Manage DSA projects from preconstruction through closeout, including subcontract buyout
• Lead procurement, bid levelling, subcontractor negotiation and contract administration
• Own budget, cost control, schedule, change orders, RFIs and submittals
• Navigate DSA regulations, inspections, approvals and certification requirements
• Coordinate with owners, architects, inspectors and subcontractors, and run project meetings

Required experience

• Bachelor’s degree in a construction-focused field, such as Construction Management, Construction Engineering Technology, Construction Engineering Management, Civil Engineering or Architecture (an associate degree is not sufficient)
• Proven DSA experience in California (K-12, education or civic/municipal works)
• Hands‑on buyout experience, having overseen buyout on at least one full project
• Experience on projects from start to finish, with stable tenure and a track record of seeing projects through
• Experience with a recognized general contractor preferred, though candidates from smaller firms with strong project experience will be considered
• Ground‑up education or civic projects (gymnasiums, athletic facilities, community centers, libraries, fire stations) are a plus
• Located in, or able to commute to, Orange County, the Inland Empire or the LA area
• Base salary of approximately $160K-$210K, depending on experience
