Job summary

AM Cabinets is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead commercial doors, frames, and hardware projects from award through final installation. This role emphasizes understanding Division 8 work and keeping fast-moving projects organized, profitable, and on schedule.

You will manage submittals, purchasing, lead times, vendor coordination, and field communication while supporting multiple active projects in the Los Angeles area.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of project management in commercial doors, frames and hardware.
  • Strong knowledge of Division 8 / architectural doors, frames and hardware.
  • Ability to read and interpret architectural plans, specifications, door schedules and hardware schedules.
  • Experience preparing and managing project submittals.
  • Experience purchasing and coordinating materials with vendors.
  • Excellent organization and communication across stakeholders.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and standard PM tools.

  • Review drawings, specifications, submittals, door schedules and hardware schedules.
  • Prepare accurate submittal packages for contractors and project teams.
  • Determine material requirements and coordinate purchasing of doors, frames, hardware, and related products.
  • Source and manage materials across multiple vendors based on lead times.
  • Track approvals, long-lead materials, delivery dates, and project milestones.
  • Coordinate with field superintendents and foremen to ensure correct materials.
  • Resolve discrepancies involving drawings, field conditions, dimensions, schedules, and product requirements.
  • Communicate proactively with contractors regarding status, timing, and issues.
  • Support change-related pricing, material adjustments, and project coordination as needed.
  • Manage multiple active projects while maintaining schedule, quality, and profitability.

The Opportunity

AM Cabinets is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead commercial doors, frames, and hardware projects from award through final installation.

This role is ideal for someone who understands the details of Division 8 work and knows how to keep fast-moving commercial projects organized, profitable, and on schedule. You will manage submittals, purchasing, material lead times, vendor coordination, and field communication while supporting multiple active projects throughout the Los Angeles market.

The position is primarily office based in Gardena, with regular coordination between contractors, vendors, field superintendents, and installation teams.

What You’ll Do
  • Manage commercial doors, frames, and hardware projects from project award through installation.

Required Qualifications
  • 5+ years of related project management experience in commercial doors, frames, and hardware.
  • Strong working knowledge of Division 8 / architectural doors, frames, and hardware.
  • Ability to read and interpret architectural plans, specifications, door schedules, and hardware schedules.
  • Experience preparing and managing project submittals.
  • Experience purchasing and coordinating materials with vendors.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with contractors, vendors, field teams, and internal stakeholders.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and standard project-management tools.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Direct field experience measuring or installing commercial doors, frames, or hardware.
  • Experience managing commercial tenant-improvement projects.
  • Experience coordinating multiple hardware and material vendors.
  • Previous experience working directly with field superintendents, foremen, or subcontractors.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
