Job summary

The Development Authority of Bryan County is seeking a full-time Project Manager to lead economic development initiatives for Bryan County, GA. The role reports to the Director or CEO and focuses on advancing the DABC’s objectives and programs.

Responsibilities include industry outreach, workforce program support, prospect packet preparation, and managing project plans, schedules, and budgets. A Bachelor's degree and MS Office proficiency are required.

Responsibilities

  • Help organize industry events, tours, career fairs, and training sessions.
  • Ensure information on the DABC website is accurate and up-to-date.

Job description

The Development Authority of Bryan County is now accepting applications for a Full Time Project Manager.

This position reports to the Director (and or CEO) of the Development Authority of Bryan County (DABC). This employee will be expected to devote his or her time to economic development and the objectives of the DABC.

Duties & Responsibilities:

The job will include performing duties essential to the operational success of the DABC, including, but not limited to, the items below:

Support DABC's existing industry program to include but not be limited to:

Conduct ongoing outreach and visitation programs of all existing industries to include at least quarterly check-in calls and an annual face-to-face survey meeting.

Connect key industry contacts to appropriate workforce resources to help industries meet hiring and retention needs.

Assist the CEO and facilitate workforce development programs that extend to military transition programs, Bryan County Schools, industry alignment programs, and other programs that support the underrepresented groups, among others.

Support with coordination of existing industry events that include but are not limited to industry tours, career fairs, quarterly employer forums, soft skills and leadership training, among other programs.

Coordinate with DABC marketing team to share news, press releases, industry highlight articles, photos, milestones and information regarding existing industries and schools on social media.

Maintain an accurate database of existing industry, current utility, transportation, industrial market, and other relevant contact information and data.

Contribute to oversight of DABC's future (prospect) industry program to include but not be limited to:

Assist with prospect visits to include ensuring that properties being shown are clean and presentable before visits, setting up and breaking down equipment for on-site visits, assisting with the compilation of prospect packets and other marketing materials, including presentations, and attending meetings as needed.

Support with the completion of project requests for information (RFI's).

Maintain and monitor project plans, databases, project schedules and budgets.

Assist with conducting fiscal analysis of projects using software and training provided by DABC.

Assist with oversight of DABC's administrative efforts to include but not be limited to:

Assist with preparation for meetings, presentations and attend when necessary.

Support with applications for and administration of grants.

Work with the CEO to ensure all information on the DABC website is up-to-date and correct.

Attend board meetings and other DABC functions as requested by the CEO. Work with other staff to ensure all reports/attachments are prepared for board meetings and functions as necessary.

Inform the CEO of work progress and conflicts of all activities and projects, accordingly and routinely.

Develop and maintain professional relationships with various DABC partners, including but not limited to the Georgia Department of Labor, Georgia Department of Economic Development, Regional Industry Support Enterprise (RISE), other local Development Authorities and Chambers, technical colleges and universities, Ft. Stewart and Hunter Army Airfield soldier transition offices, site selection consultants, and industrial real-estate brokers among others.

There are several non-negotiables when it comes to being a teammate of the DABC. All team members are expected to be punctual, have a great attitude and be ready to make a difference every day. Attendance is not optional.

Humility and a servant’s heart are paramount to leading with communication and by example and with conviction. The Project Manager is expected to be self-motivated and have an ambitious work effort.

Work as a team player with other staff members. Professional behavior is expected in the workplace and at all work-related functions.

Being able to work under tight deadlines and produce work drafts at times with little direction from the CEO to provide draft work products for review and revision is critical.

Maintain confidentiality of privileged information at all times.

Must abide by the adopted personnel policy.

Position may occasionally require overnight travel, as well as after-hours (outside of Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM) participation in meetings and events.

Project Manager shall be expected to perform other duties within reason and appropriate boundaries as instructed by the CEO.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree required (with an emphasis in Business Administration, Marketing, or Economic Development or similar is preferred). Candidates with experience in project management, economic development, and/or workforce development are preferred. Microsoft Office proficiency is required. Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License or be able to secure same within 45 days of employment. Compensation will be commensurate with experience and is a competitive package.
