Job summary

Colliers Project Leaders in Ashburn, VA is seeking a Project Manager to join our Owner's Rep team, overseeing large-scale datacenter construction from site development through fit-outs, coordinating with design managers, clients, consultants and vendors.

The ideal candidate has an architecture/construction background with 4+ years PM experience and 2+ years in data center construction; strong scheduling and budgeting skills and English proficiency are required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Construction Management, Engineering or related field.
  • 4+ years of project management experience.
  • 2+ years of data center construction experience.
  • Extensive familiarity with scheduling, budgeting and cost controls.
  • Working knowledge of MEP systems in data centers.
  • Ability to read, write and understand English.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee large scale construction projects that range from site development to data center buildouts.
  • Knowledgeable in base building and tenant MEP systems and managing design and implementation.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with general contractors, subcontractors, equipment vendors and consultants.
  • Review budgeting and scheduling deliverables for content and quality; act as SME in construction matters.
  • Lead budget and schedule reviews with the construction team.
  • Discuss objectives and budgets with clients, design staff and senior leadership.
  • Create and maintain budgets and schedules for multiple sites in various design/construction stages.
  • Provide oversight and escalate project issues as needed.
  • Conduct or delegate job-site observations to ensure adherence to budget and schedule.
  • Coordinate reviews with consultants and government agencies for entitlements and permits.

Colliers Project Leaders is currently looking for a Project Manager to join our Owner's Rep team in Ashburn, VA; Portland, OR; Atlanta, GA; & Miami, FL.

The Construction Manager will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and directing all activities, related to the delivery of the assigned datacenter construction project. You'll act as a liaison both internally and externally for construction services by interacting with Design Managers, personnel, clientele, consultants, contractors, and equipment vendors.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee large scale construction projects that range from site development, ground up construction, data center buildouts and customer fit-outs.
  • Knowledgeable in base building and tenant MEP systems and managing the design and implementation of these systems.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationship with our general contractors, key subcontractors, equipment vendors and other consultants
  • Review all budgeting and scheduling deliverables for content and quality, drawing quality and adherence to internal budget and schedule goals. Act as a subject matter expert in construction matters with the business in evaluating potential customer leases and ongoing construction projects.
  • Participate and lead budget and schedule meeting reviews with construction team personnel
  • Discuss discipline and project objectives, requirements and budgets with clientele, design staff, and senior leadership
  • Create and maintain project budgets and schedules for multiple sites in various stages of design/construction. Evaluate impacts of specific customer requirements.
  • Provide oversight and assistance with ongoing construction projects. Escalate as needed for any project issues that arise.
  • Personally, conduct or delegate job-site observations to ensure projects are adhering to budget and schedule targets
  • Participate in reviews with consultants and government agencies to properly coordinate the entitlements necessary for permitting/construction approvals.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Architecture, Construction Management, Engineering or related field.
  • 4+ years of project management experience.
  • 2+ years of data center construction experience.
  • General Contracting, Construction Management, Equipment Vendor or Architecture Experience preferred.
  • Extensive familiarity and working knowledge of construction scheduling, project budgeting and cost controls.
  • Working technical knowledge of MEP systems and how data centers operate.
  • Ability to read, write and understand English for purposes of comprehending written job-related communications and verbal instructions and interactions.
