Motion Recruitment is seeking a seasoned Project Manager for Data Center Projects in the Richardson, TX area. The role oversees large-scale construction from preconstruction through turnover, with travel to sites about 3 days per week and remote start.

You will coordinate with design teams, field leadership, OEMs, and client operations on mission-critical facilities, manage schedules, budgets, and risk, and drive IST and L1-L5 commissioning to successful turnover.

Project Manager – Data Center Projects

We are hiring a Project Manager – Data Center Projects for a full-time, direct-hire opportunity in the Richardson, TX / DFW area. The position will start remotely with travel to project sites as needed, likely around 3 days per week. This role supports large-scale, mission-critical data center construction projects and will oversee projects from preconstruction and procurement through construction, L1-L5 commissioning, Integrated Systems Testing (IST), and final turnover.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Data Center Construction Project Manager looking to take ownership of complex, high-value mission-critical projects. You will have visibility across the entire project lifecycle and work closely with design teams, field leadership, OEMs, commissioning providers, BMS/EPMS integrators, and client operations. The position offers strong growth potential in the rapidly expanding data center sector, along with a competitive $130K-$140K base salary, performance bonus, and comprehensive benefits.

Required Skills & Experience

• 7+ years of construction project management experience
• 3+ years of data center or mission-critical construction experience
• Experience delivering $20M+ construction projects on fast-track schedules
• Strong understanding of MEP systems and critical power/cooling infrastructure
• Knowledge of UPS, generators, switchgear, chillers, CRAH/CRAC, BMS, and EPMS
• Understanding of data center redundancy configurations including N, N+1, and 2N
• Hands‑on exposure to L1-L5 commissioning and Integrated Systems Testing (IST)
• Experience managing long‑lead equipment procurement, vendor coordination, FAT and SAT activities
• Experience developing and managing project schedules using Primavera P6 and/or Microsoft Project
• Experience with Procore and construction cost management tools
• Strong knowledge of change control, RFIs, change orders, cost forecasting, and project risk management
• Strong communication, stakeholder management, and negotiation skills

Desired Skills & Experience

• Familiarity with Uptime Institute Tier concepts and TIA-942 resiliency ratings
• Working knowledge of ASHRAE TC 9.9 guidelines
• Experience with phased data center turnover and upgrades in live/energized environments
• Experience developing or executing MOPs, SOPs, and EOPs
• PMP, CCM, or equivalent project management credential
• Experience coordinating commissioning providers, OEMs, BMS/EPMS integrators, and client operations
