Thor Companies is seeking an experienced Project Manager to support a live data center construction project in Kansas City. The role acts as the owner's representative, owning project delivery and holding the GC accountable for progress, program, quality, and cost.

This hands-on position requires a data center, mission-critical or complex MEP background, with strong GC management and autonomous execution to drive milestones.

Responsabilidades

• Coordinate commissioning readiness, testing and handover.
• Provide regular progress updates to the owner's team.

The Opportunity

Thor Companies is seeking an experienced Project Manager to support the delivery of a live data center construction project in Kansas City.

Construction is already underway, with ground broken and equipment on site. The successful contractor will act as the owner's representative, taking ownership of project delivery and holding the General Contractor (GC) accountable for progress, programme, quality and cost.

This is a hands-on opportunity suited to someone with a data center, mission-critical or complex MEP construction background. Strong GC-side Project Managers looking to move into an owner-side role will also be considered.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee and hold the General Contractor accountable for construction delivery, schedule, quality and safety.
• Manage project progress, critical-path activities, risks and recovery plans.
• Coordinate subcontractors, consultants, equipment vendors and other stakeholders.
• Monitor MEP installation, critical infrastructure and equipment deliveries.
• Manage change orders, cost control, RFIs and construction issues.
• Coordinate commissioning readiness, testing and final project handover.
• Provide regular progress updates to the owner's team.

Required Experience

• Proven experience as a Project Manager or Construction Manager on complex construction projects.
• Data center or mission-critical experience strongly preferred.
• Strong GC management, construction scheduling and subcontractor coordination skills.
• Good understanding of MEP systems and critical infrastructure.
• Ability to operate autonomously, take ownership and drive contractors towards key milestones.
• Experience with Primavera P6 or similar scheduling tools is advantageous.

Working Arrangements

The contractor will travel to Kansas City every other week for site oversight, coordinating with the project team remotely between visits.
