Job summary

Sletten Construction Company seeks a Project Manager to oversee day-to-day operations of multiple construction projects. You will lead a project team, drive on-schedule and on-budget delivery, and coordinate with in-house teams and external partners to ensure project success.

The role requires 8+ years PM experience, strong leadership and communication skills, and willingness to travel to various sites, primarily in California. A valid driver’s license is required and safety is a core priority.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management/Sciences, Engineering (civil, electrical, mechanical, building science, etc.) or related discipline.
• 8+ years of work experience in project management, contracting, engineering, or construction management.
• Past leadership experience required.
• Superior communication and interpersonal skills.
• Developed office management and organizational skills.
• Valid driver's license and ability to be insured.
• Excellent time management skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize and assist in staffing key field positions.
• Monitor/control construction through on-site supervision to ensure schedule and budget.
• Investigate construction, existing condition, or design issues and implement corrective measures.
• Assist with project pursuit and procurement including RFQ responses and interviews.
• Coordinate with Preconstruction, Architects, Engineers and Owners through design.
• Prepare subcontracts and purchase orders.
• Maintain and update project schedules.
• Participate in employee continuing education in-house or through outside programs.
• Counsel and, when needed, terminate unsatisfactory or unneeded employees.
• Manage the project team providing assignments, leading, and training junior members.
• Learn and utilize ProCore, Viewpoint and other relevant industry software.
• Ensure vehicle fleet and equipment are maintained and policies upheld.
• Uphold safety as the most important goal of our company.
• Support goal of achieving zero accidents.
• Investigate and document all accidents.

Sletten Construction is looking for a Project Manager to support current and future construction projects. The Project Manager is responsible for the day‑to‑day operations and oversight of multiple projects. He/She will provide leadership to take charge of challenging projects, encourage teamwork, and supply the energy and enthusiasm required to achieve company goals and objectives. All business will be conducted in accordance with Sletten Construction Company's mission and vision statements.

Duties And Responsibilities

• Plan, organize and assist in staffing key field positions
• Monitor/control construction through administrative direction of an on‑site superintendent to ensure project is built on schedule and within budget
• Investigate construction, existing condition, or design issues and implement corrective measures
• Assist with project pursuit and procurement including preparation of RFQ responses and interviews
• Coordinate with in house Preconstruction team, Architects, Engineers and Owners through the design process

Additional Information

• This position reports to Division Manager
• This role is a traveling position and job site visits are required
• Office and field environment requiring sitting, climbing and standing
• Travel to various construction sites is required, exposing employee to outdoor elements, noise and the need to stand and walk
• Majority of jobsites are in California
