Placements24 seeks a competent Project Manager to oversee construction projects in East London, Eastern Cape. You will manage planning, resources, contractors, and ensure compliance with safety standards to deliver on time and within budget.

Requirements include a Civil/Construction degree, 7+ years of PM experience, budget and schedule control, and knowledge of building codes. East London/Eastern Cape experience is advantageous.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the full lifecycle of construction projects, including planning, design, procurement, execution, monitoring, and close-out.
• Develop detailed project plans, cost estimates, schedules, and resource allocation strategies.
• Oversee site operations, manage construction teams and subcontractors, and ensure adherence to project specifications.
• Implement and enforce rigorous health, safety, and environmental (HSE) protocols on all project sites.
• Monitor project progress, identify potential risks and issues, and implement effective mitigation strategies.
• Ensure effective communication and coordination among all project stakeholders, including clients, architects, engineers, and regulatory bodies.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline; Professional registration (e.g., Pr Eng, Pr CPM) is a strong advantage.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in project management, with a significant focus on managing building and construction projects.
• Proven ability to manage project budgets, schedules, and resources effectively.
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, building codes, and safety regulations.
• Excellent leadership, negotiation, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Experience working on projects in East London or the surrounding Eastern Cape region.
