Job summary

Intertek is seeking a Project Manager for Construction Materials Testing in Dallas, TX. You will oversee project plans, client relationships, and testing schedules, ensuring quality and on-time delivery. The role requires coordinating budgets, invoicing, and field supervision across testing activities.

The ideal candidate holds a Texas P.E. license, a relevant degree, and 5+ years in CMT/PM. ACI certification and understanding of ASTM/AASHTO standards are preferred, with potential for overtime.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering or Geotechnical Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 5 years' combined experience in Construction Materials Testing and/or Project Management.
• P.E. License in the state of Texas.
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications.
• Familiarity with building codes and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Lead project meetings and maintain client relationships, identify new project opportunities.
• Prepare proposals, review contracts, and manage billing and invoicing.
• Monitor project budgets and coordinate change orders.
• Review test reports and ensure timely submission.

The Project Manager is responsible for performing a variety of testing, project specific observations and site assessment duties under general supervision and/or from detailed controlled procedures.

What you’ll do:

• Conduct and attend project meetings and maintain Client relationships, leverage and develop new project opportunities
• Review project setup, prepare advanced proposals for internal and external review and follow up
• Complete contract review and negotiation
• Monitor project budget and initiate change orders
• Review, Prepare and Submit invoices
• Review and sign test reports
• Perform project close out duties
• Ensure field testing and inspections are scheduled and performed correctly and keep clients informed of progress
• Superviseand provide support to field and/or laboratory personnel
• Train field and laboratory personnel on different types of testing and inspection techniques in accordance with ASTM, ACI, AASTHO, TxDOT and other reference standards and test methods
• Help with equipment issues and/or replacement
• Assist with lab, field and/or administrative duties as needed

Minimum Requirements & Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering or Geotechnical Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience
• 5 years' combined experience in Construction Materials Testing and/or Project Management experience
• P.E. License in the state of Texas
• Understand Construction Materials Testing Business
• Valid Driver’s License and reliable driving record
• Able to read and interpret construction plans and project specifications
• Effective communication skills (written, verbal and listening) and solid interpersonal skills
• Must be familiar with the building codes and regulations
• Possess ort ability to obtain ACI certification within 6 months of hire (Concrete, Masonry, Aggregate)
• Internal PMCP completion within 6 months of hire
• Ability to lead and supervise others
• Must be able to work off shift and overtime as needed

Preferred Requirements & Qualifications:

• TxDOT Certification(s) and project experience is highly desirable
• Material testing experience on local aviation industry jobs, is an added qualification for the position
