LOCATION: This position reports to our office in Kansas City, MO, supporting our Midwest Region.

ABOUT THE JOB

The Tepa Companies are seeking a Construction Project Manager to oversee all project aspects, including client relationships, schedules, budgets, and profitability through project completion. The Project Manager will collaborate with the Superintendent to develop and update project schedules, prepare cost estimates, and manage federal construction projects, with knowledge of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ RMS system being a plus.

Job Functions:

  1. Prepare cost estimates
  2. Create project schedules using Suretrak or Primavera
  3. Establish budgets within 14 days of award, including bid review, drawing review, and on-site management
  4. Manage project development from start to finish
  5. Define project scope, goals, and deliverables
  6. Manage consultants, subcontractors, vendors, budgets, and internal departments
  7. Oversee all project phases: entitlement, design-build, permitting, bidding, contracting, construction, billing, and closeout
  8. Plan and manage project timelines to meet deadlines
  9. Report on project progress, issues, and solutions
  10. Perform cost estimating and quality control
  11. Develop and manage budgets and forecasts
  12. Establish site office and communication protocols
  13. Track RFIs
  14. Evaluate superintendents and quality controllers
  15. Conduct pre-qualification and procurement of subcontractors
  16. Verify Superintendent’s 3-Week Look Ahead Schedule
  17. Update and maintain bi-weekly budget reports for management
  18. Perform cost and risk analyses with recommendations
  19. Maintain open communication with field staff and resolve issues

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in construction or engineering
  • Minimum of five (5) years’ experience on Federal, State, or Local Government projects
  • At least 5+ years of construction project management experience in new and vertical construction
  • Previous Design-Build experience is preferred but not required
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Proven ability to establish effective project management control systems
  • Ability to obtain a federal background check and base pass
  • Efficient time management skills
  • Understanding of project planning, resource allocation, and leadership principles
