Job summary

Audubon Companies is seeking a Project Manager- Construction for our Houston Energy Corridor office. You will lead industrial construction projects from award through closeout, ensuring safety, schedule, budget, and quality align with contract requirements and client expectations.

Responsibilities include coordinating with owners, engineers, subcontractors, and vendors, developing execution plans, managing change orders, and ensuring timely progress billings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, business, or related field (equivalent experience may be considered).
• Experience with project estimating, cost control, scheduling, procurement, subcontract administration, change management, and project closeout.
• Proficiency with drawings, specifications, owner contracts, subcontracts, POs, RFIs, submittals, and as-built requirements.

Responsibilities

• Review the proposal, contract, scope of work, estimate, schedule requirements, drawings, and specifications with the project team.
• Develop and maintain the project execution plan, staffing plan, procurement plan, schedule, and cost-control structure.
• Coordinate construction activities with owner, engineers, inspectors, subcontractors, vendors, and company personnel.
• Monitor schedule progress, labor productivity, material status, equipment utilization, and field constraints; take corrective action as needed.
• Lead project coordination meetings and communicate project status, risks, decisions, and actions to stakeholders.
• Prepare, negotiate, document, and administer change orders, claims, and revisions to budget and schedule.
• Support accurate progress billings, accounts receivable, purchase orders, and subcontract administration.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Audubon is currently seeking a Project Manager- Construction, to join our team at the Houston Energy Corridor office. The Project Manager - Construction is responsible for the successful execution of assigned industrial construction projects from project award through final closeout. This position plans, organizes, and directs field and support resources to deliver work safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with contract requirements, quality standards, and client expectations. The Project Manager serves as the primary link between the Company, owner, engineering representatives, subcontractors, vendors, and internal support functions. The role provides day-to-day project leadership through the Superintendent, General Foreman, and project staff while maintaining accountability for cost, schedule, quality, safety, procurement, change management, billing, and closeout.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assume overall responsibility for the safe, profitable, timely, and high-quality execution of assigned construction projects.
• Review the proposal, contract, scope of work, estimate, schedule requirements, drawings, specifications, and other governing documents with the project team.
• Develop and maintain the project execution plan, staffing plan, procurement plan, schedule, and cost-control structure.
• Determine effective construction methods and coordinate the use of labor, equipment, materials, subcontractors, and suppliers.
• Lead and support the Superintendent, General Foreman, and project team; establish clear responsibilities, expectations, and accountability.
• Promote and enforce the Company safety culture, HSE requirements, project-specific plans, and applicable laws and regulations.
• Coordinate construction activities with the owner, engineers, inspectors, subcontractors, vendors, and Company personnel.
• Monitor schedule progress, labor productivity, material status, equipment utilization, and field constraints; take corrective action when performance deviates from plan.
• Coordinate engineering questions, RFIs, submittals, design changes, field changes, and document control to support uninterrupted construction.
• Manage subcontractor and vendor selection, scope alignment, performance, change requests, payment applications, and invoicing.
• Track commitments, forecast cost to complete, review labor and cost reports, and keep management informed of project financial performance.
• Prepare, negotiate, document, and administer change orders, claims, and revisions to the project budget and schedule.
• Support accurate and timely progress billings, accounts receivable, purchase orders, and subcontract administration.
• Lead project coordination meetings and communicate project status, risks, decisions, and action items to the appropriate stakeholders.
• Coordinate quality planning, inspections, testing, punch-list completion, turnover documentation, and final acceptance.
• Manage project closeout, including as-built documentation, warranties, owner deliverables, final billing, lessons learned, and demobilization.
• Enforce Company policies, procedures, and project controls and participate in continuous improvement initiatives.

EXPERIENCE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS

• At least five years of experience in the oil and gas, midstream, gas processing, or industrial construction industry, including a minimum of three years in project management.
• Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, business, or a related field is preferred; equivalent experience may be considered.
• Experience with project estimating, cost control, scheduling, procurement, subcontract administration, change management, and project closeout.
• Working knowledge of drawings, specifications, owner contracts, subcontracts, purchase orders, RFIs, submittals, daily reports, correspondence, and as-built requirements.
• Ability to read and interpret construction documents and coordinate multiple disciplines, crews, subcontractors, and support departments.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and project management, scheduling, document-control, and cost-reporting systems.
• Strong leadership, organization, problem-solving, negotiation, written, and verbal communication skills. Ability to work effectively under pressure, manage competing priorities, and make timely, sound decisions.
• Willingness to travel to and work at project sites as required.
