Job summary

ARCO Design/Build in Charleston, SC is seeking an experienced Electrical/MEP Project Manager to lead turnkey power solutions from design to delivery. You will manage estimating, scheduling, safety, and progress reporting for General Services Charleston projects, with full responsibility for project performance and client satisfaction.

The role emphasizes leadership, cross-functional coordination, and a commitment to high-quality, safe execution on diverse electrical construction programs

Qualifications

• BS in Engineering or related field with a minimum 3.0 GPA.
• 2–5 years of electrical construction management or engineering design experience.
• Previous light industrial, manufacturing, or commercial project experience.
• Experience using Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Projects and/or P6.
• Ability to travel nationwide.

Responsibilities

• Create competitive project cost estimates and preliminary schedules for a large pipeline of electrical and renewable energy projects.
• Review specifications, scope, drawings, and RFPs to understand requirements and contract risks.
• Participate in client proposal meetings to discuss scope, costs, and value engineering.
• Oversee subcontractor selection and buyout for all trades and vendors.
• Identify and procure materials or equipment directly when advantageous to budget or schedule.
• Collaborate with the project team to develop subcontractor scopes and site logistics plans.
• Lead preconstruction planning meetings with designers, subs, and vendors to resolve constructability issues.
• Lead on-site weekly/bi-weekly meetings to review progress and address client challenges.
• Track project performance vs budget and prepare pay apps and progress billing reports.
• Find ways to make the construction process engaging for clients and vendors without compromising quality or safety.

ARCO Design/Build is currently looking for an experienced Electrical/MEP Project Manager to join our team based in Charleston, SC. The Project Manager will play a key role as part of the General Services Charleston (Self Perform Team for ARCO Design/Build) team in delivering turnkey power solutions to our clients. This person will have the opportunity to lead managerial and administrative aspects of GSC projects including; estimating, scheduling, quality control, progress reports, progress billing, design review/coordination, cost reporting, safety, and proposal preparation.

A DAY IN THE LIFE

• Create competitive, accurate, and timely project cost estimates and preliminary schedules for large pipeline of general electrical and renewable energy system construction projects
• Thoroughly investigate the specifications, scope of work, drawings, and other RFP documents to develop a complete understanding of the RFP requirements. Demonstrate comprehensive understanding of the contract documents and the potential risks for a project
• Participate in the proposal meeting with clients to review the scope of work, discuss ways to reduce costs, provide value engineering ideas, and negotiate contracts & fees
• Oversee subcontractor selection and buyout process for all trades and vendors
• Identify and investigate opportunities to procure material and/or specialty equipment directly when advantageous to project budget or schedule
• Work with Project Superintendent to develop and review subcontractor scopes of work/contracts, project schedule, and site logistics plan
• Lead preconstruction planning meetings with all designers, subcontractors and vendors aimed at solving potential constructability, sequencing, and/or manpower issues
• Lead weekly/bi-weekly OAC meetings on-site once construction begins to review progress and address challenges directly with client
• Track and manage project performance vs budget; prepare owner pay applications, cost status, and progress billing reports
• Most importantly…find a way to make the construction process FUN for your clients, subcontractors, and vendors without sacrificing on quality or safety.

NECESSARY QUALIFICATIONS

• BS in Engineering or related field; with a minimum of 3.0 GPA
• 2-5 years of electrical construction management or engineering design experience
• Previous light industrial, manufacturing, or commercial project experience required
• Experience using Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Projects and/or P6 preferred
• Ability to travel nationwide as needed
