Job summary

Akron Children's is seeking a Construction Project Manager to lead planning, design and management of construction projects at Akron Main on site. The role requires coordinating with hospital stakeholders to ensure design, performance and safety standards are met.

You will oversee both new construction and renovations, drive design decisions, monitor budgets and timelines, and manage multiple tasks across phases from acquisition to completion.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture or related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in construction management.
• Supervisory experience not required.

Job description

Summary

The Construction Project Manager is responsible for leading the planning, design and management of all assigned construction projects.

Employment Details

Full‑time, 40 hours per week. 1st shift: 8:00 am – 4:30 pm, Monday – Friday. Location: Akron Main, Onsite.

Responsibilities

• Leads the planning, design and management of all assigned construction projects.
• Manages new construction and renovation projects.
• Works independently through all phases of the project including acquisition, planning, site preparation, design and construction.
• Drives decisions related to design, constructability, construction and other project‑related matters.
• Monitors the budget and schedule.
• Works in close partnership with hospital stakeholders and department user groups to facilitate all aspects of design, construction, and equipment specifications are met.
• Other duties as required.

Technical Expertise

• Experience in building systems operation, construction management and maintenance strategies.
• Experience in procurement methodologies and management of small- and large‑scale capital projects, including oversight and management of design consultants, general contractors and construction managers.
• Experience with building codes, environmental and life safety regulations.
• Experience with Lean training is preferred.
• Experience coordinating, managing and prioritizing multiple tasks.
• Experience working with all levels within an organization.
• Experience in healthcare construction is preferred.

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or related field.
