Job summary

National Coatings is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead commercial and retail painting projects in Montana and beyond. You will oversee budgets, schedules, risk, and client communications to deliver high-quality finishes on time and within scope.

You will supervise Superintendents, coordinate crews, manage subcontractor payments, and prepare monthly billings and WIP reports. Strong communication and analytical skills are essential to drive profitability and client satisfaction.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience in project management for commercial/retail painting
• Exceptional communication, organization, and analytical abilities
• Ability to collaborate effectively as a team member

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Responsible for the financial health of assigned projects, ensuring profitability while meeting contractual obligations.
• Oversee project progress, proactively identifying potential roadblocks, delays, or issues; implement immediate corrective actions accordingly.
• Proficiently manage subcontract and client monthly pay applications, subcontract amendments, and necessary written notifications governing the work.
• Manage multiple projects concurrently while cultivating and maintaining client relationships; ensure timely responses to urgent situations.
• Track and manage labor, equipment, and material costs associated with ongoing projects.
• Lead and supervise the Superintendents, holding accountable for overall performance.
• Coordinate with Superintendents to determine proper manpower and schedules for upcoming projects.
• Prepare accurate monthly billings based upon current job completion status.
• Complete monthly WIP (Work in Progress) reporting.

Requirements

Experience and Qualifications:

• 4+ years of experience in project management
• Prior commercial and/or retail painting experience
• Exceptional communication, organization, and analytical skills
• Ability to collaborate and work effectively as a team player
• Proficiency with construction management software (Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Excel, Eclipse, and/or Procore experience is a plus)
