Job summary

Lucid Search Group is seeking an experienced Project Manager for a commercial general contractor in the Concord/ Pleasant Hill area. You will manage projects end-to-end, maintaining schedules, budgets, quality, and client relationships.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years in PM, with retail/grocery or ground-up work. Procore/Bluebeam/MS Project experience is preferred; strong leadership and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of PM experience with a commercial general contractor preferred.
• Background in retail, grocery, ground-up construction, renovations or TI.
• Strong scheduling, budgeting, and coordination with field teams.
• Experience with Procore, Bluebeam or MS Project preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead commercial construction projects from preconstruction through completion.
• Oversee budgets, schedules, subcontractors and overall project performance.
• Coordinate with superintendents, subcontractors, vendors, architects and owners.
• Review drawings, specs, contracts, RFIs, submittals and changes.
• Monitor costs, forecasting, billing and financial performance.
• Ensure on-time delivery within budget and safety standards.
• Manage multiple projects while maintaining clear communications.
• Build strong relationships with clients and subcontractors.

Job Description

We are working with an established commercial general contractor in the Concord, CA area that is looking to add an experienced Project Manager to its team.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in commercial construction, particularly retail, grocery, ground-up construction, renovations, and tenant improvements. This individual will be responsible for managing projects from start to finish while maintaining schedules, budgets, quality, and client relationships.

Responsibilities

• Manage commercial construction projects from preconstruction through completion.
• Oversee project budgets, schedules, subcontractors, and overall project performance.
• Coordinate with superintendents, subcontractors, vendors, architects, and owners.
• Review drawings, specifications, contracts, RFIs, submittals, and change orders.
• Monitor project costs, forecasting, billing, and financial performance.
• Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and according to quality and safety standards.
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining communication with all parties.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and subcontractors.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of Project Management experience with a commercial general contractor preferred.
• Experience with retail, grocery, big-box stores, ground-up construction, renovations, or tenant improvements strongly preferred.
• Strong understanding of commercial construction methods, scheduling, estimating, and budgeting.
• Experience managing subcontractors and coordinating field operations.
• Proficiency with construction management software such as Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Project, or similar platforms.
• Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred, but not required.
