Job summary

Dondlinger Construction Company in Wichita, KS seeks a Project Manager for the Commercial Building Division to oversee self-performed and large-scale projects, such as water/waste-water facilities and commercial buildings.

Responsibilities include developing schedules, budgets, coordinating with field staff and subcontractors, managing change orders, and ensuring safety and compliance. A 3–5 year background in commercial GC is required, with strong reading of contracts and coordination.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience managing large scope commercial construction projects as a general contractor.
• Proven experience in managing skilled trades and sub-contractors.
• Ability to create and work with contracts, RFIs, change orders, submittal documentation, and plans/specifications.
• Must have strong working knowledge of commercial means and methods along with general best practices.
• Proficient in construction systems including estimating software, Microsoft Office, On Screen Takeoff, Bluebeam, ERP software, and scheduling systems.
• Promote safety and project housekeeping practices.
• Must be able to assess and mitigate risk during all project phases.
• Ability to collaborate with peers, clients, subcontractors, and code officials.
• Must stay current on emerging industry trends/technology and pursue continuous education.
• Operate with integrity and responsibility in the best interest of clients.
• Ability to work flexible hours.

• Bachelor's in construction management, construction science, engineering, or related field is preferred, but not required.
• Professional certifications or education in mechanical, electrical, or plumbing fields is a plus.
• Experience with water/waste-water treatment facilities is a plus.
