Job summary

Dondlinger Construction Company in Wichita, KS, is seeking a Superintendent – Commercial Building Division to lead field operations on large-scale commercial projects.

You will work with the Project Manager to ensure safety, schedule, and quality, manage self-performed and subcontracted scopes, and maintain an organized, productive site.

Preferred candidates have 5+ years of experience, knowledge of OSHA standards, and the ability to coordinate trades, with a strong commitment to company values.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience managing large scope commercial projects as a general contractor.
• Proven experience in managing skilled trades and sub-contractors.
• Must interpret plans and provide clear direction regarding specifications.
• Knowledge of OSHA Construction Standards and safety practices.
• Ability to collaborate with peers, clients, subcontractors, and officials.
• Commitment to continuous education and professional growth.
• Ability to work flexible hours.

Responsibilities

• Work alongside Project Manager to ensure projects are completed safely and on-schedule.
• Manage and assist with self-performed and sub-contracted scopes of work.
• Maintain an organized and safe working environment.
• Provide status reports regarding production, anticipated challenges and labor needs.
• Conduct scheduled sub-contractor meetings and safety debriefs.
• Ensure adherence to health and safety regulations across all project phases.
• Resolve any project-related issues promptly, ensuring minimal disruption to timelines and budgets.
• Other miscellaneous duties as directed by the VP of the Commercial Building Division.

This position is responsible for managing field operations for self-performed, large scope commercial projects, such as water/waste-water treatment facilities, industrial structures and commercial buildings.

• Must have knowledge of and strict adherence to OSHA Construction Standards.
• Ability to collaborate and cooperate with others, including peers, clients, subcontractors, general public and code officials.
• Must stay current on emerging industry trends/technology and pursue continuous education.
• Must operate in a character consistent with company values (Skill, Integrity and Responsibility) in the best interest of our clients.
• Ability to work flexible hours.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelors in construction management, construction science, engineering, or related field is preferred, but not required.
• Ability to run a total station is preferred
• Experience with water/waste-water treatment facilities is a plus.
