Milliman’s CMH Health practice has an opening for a Project Manager to manage large, cross-functional projects with clients in the health industry. We are looking for someone who has expertise in managing complex projects from start to finish and is eager to apply his or her skills to our rapidly growing entrepreneurial business.

Opportunity Highlights

The Project Management team works directly with Milliman Health professional services consultants, clients, operations staff, and our products teams to provide project management best practices, enable process improvement, and assist with change management. We deliver structured project management services across a wide variety of client and internal engagements, participating in the full spectrum of the project delivery process. The project team may include pharmacists, doctors, actuaries, health care analysts, and data scientists.

The Project Manager is a team player who thrives in an environment of autonomy and is comfortable with ambiguity. They are technically minded and able to adapt to differing project management methodologies on the fly as situations evolve. They enjoy challenging and dynamic project assignments with a high degree of tenacity, decisiveness, and humility. This position independently delivers structured project management services for Milliman Health’s most common products or services for client and internal engagements.

Job responsibilities

  • Manage several concurrent projects of varying complexity and length, e.g. new data sources, technical integrations, new products, etc.
  • Apply standard project management tools and techniques as needed. Tailor approach based on project needs
  • Effectively communicate the health of projects to all levels of stakeholders both internal and external
  • Learn our business, products, clientele, partners, and internal teams
  • Lead the implementation of new processes or improvements to existing processes
  • Create detailed project plans including goals, priorities, deliverables, schedule, budget, risks, and resources
  • Hold internal constituents at all levels accountable for timelines and commitments
  • Document projects with an eye for process improvements to facilitate change
  • Facilitate communication across teams
  • Speak the “language” of all teams involved, translate between levels and functions
  • Work cooperatively and treat clients and coworkers with respect and dignity while valuing individual differences
  • Demonstrate commitment to being creative, innovative, flexible, and adaptable, focusing on quality solutions, and continually improving
  • Participate in developing organization’s project management maturity through enhanced project management processes and tools
  • Five or more years of professional experience in project coordination and project management or related role, preferably in a project-based environment (previous experience in healthcare, pharmacy, and consulting is beneficial, but not required)
  • Experience working in the Health consulting industry (preferred)
  • Continued education, degree, certification(s), and/or professional training in any of the following: economics, business, math, statistics, computer science, information systems
  • Proficiency with Project Management Software, tools, methodologies, & best practices (Microsoft 365 applications preferred)
  • Individual(s) must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for immigration support or sponsorship from Milliman now or in the future

Project Management Certification is preferred but not required.

Location

This role is based out of the Milliman office in our Brookfield, WI, Chicago, IL, or Hartford, CT office, but candidates hired into this role may work remotely anywhere in the US.

The salary range is $93,700- $185,400 , depending on a combination of factors, including, but not limited to, education, relevant work experience, qualifications, skills, certifications, location, etc.
