About the Role

Our client, a leading civil engineering and infrastructure development firm, is seeking a competent Project Manager to oversee a variety of public and private sector projects. This hybrid role, based in Welkom , Free State , offers the chance to manage impactful infrastructure developments from initial planning through to construction and commissioning. You will be responsible for ensuring projects meet all technical specifications, regulatory requirements, and are completed within budget and on schedule. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in civil engineering project management, excellent leadership abilities, and a thorough understanding of construction methodologies and site management. Key Responsibilities

• Develop and manage comprehensive project plans for civil infrastructure projects, including scope, budgets, schedules, and resource allocation.
• Lead and coordinate project teams, including engineers, surveyors, contractors, and subcontractors.
• Oversee all aspects of project execution, from site preparation and earthworks to structural construction and finishing.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant engineering standards, building codes, and safety regulations.
• Manage procurement processes, including tendering, contractor selection, and contract administration.
• Monitor project progress, identify potential risks, and implement effective mitigation strategies.
• Maintain clear and consistent communication with clients, consultants, government agencies, and other stakeholders.
• Manage project finances, track expenditures, and ensure projects remain within budgetary constraints.
• Conduct regular site inspections and quality control checks.
• Prepare detailed project reports and documentation for submission to clients and regulatory bodies.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in project management, with a focus on civil infrastructure projects (roads, bridges, water systems, etc.).
• Proven track record of successfully managing projects from inception to completion.
• Strong understanding of civil engineering principles, construction methods, and materials.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in project management software such as MS Project, Primavera, or similar.
• Experience with contract management, procurement, and tender processes.
• Knowledge of relevant environmental regulations and site safety protocols.
• Ability to work effectively in a hybrid environment, balancing office-based planning with on-site supervision.
• Professional registration with ECSA (Engineering Council of South Africa) is highly advantageous.
