Job summary

Shirley Contracting Company is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead civil construction projects in the Northern Virginia area, including Lorton, VA. The role requires coordinating diverse teams, managing budgets, and ensuring safety standards across projects from planning to completion.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of construction management experience, strong communication and leadership skills, and a bachelor’s degree (preferred).

Qualifications

• 5+ Years of construction management experience.
• In-depth understanding of construction procedures and material and project management principles.
• Outstanding communication, negotiation, organizational and time-management skills.
• Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
• A team player with leadership abilities.
• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Bachelor’s degree (preferred).
• Must pass pre-employment physical/drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Plan, Schedule, Supervise and Coordinate all aspects of a wide range of construction projects to ensure that deadlines and budgets are met.
• Negotiate and manage contracts with vendors and subcontractors.
• Determine needed resources (manpower, equipment and materials) from start to finish with attention to schedule and budget details.
• Supervise a team of Engineers, Interns, and other members of the team and provide guidance as needed.
• Ensure the company’s health and safety culture, policies and requirements are met.
• Establish and maintain a positive working relationship with customer and co-workers.
