Job summary

Johnson, Mirmiran & Thompson, a leading multidisciplinary consulting firm, seeks a Project Manager – Buildings & Facilities in Hunt Valley, MD to deliver complex multidiscipline engineering projects on time and within budget. You will coordinate internal and external resources, manage client and stakeholder communications, and oversee financial and contract administration.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or architecture from an accredited program; registered PE or AIA preferred.
  • 10+ years of design and construction project management experience including design oversight, SOF development and project reporting.
  • PMP certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Manage project internal and external engineering resources, government agencies and client staffing to deliver high-quality scopes on time and within budget.
  • Act as point of contact for clients, contractors and internal/external design and construction teams.
  • Build and develop client relationships to understand preferences, deliver quality projects, and seek repeat or new opportunities.
  • Coordinate administrative aspects of projects including contract reviews, bidding, scheduling, month-end processing, project accounting and reporting.
  • Lead and manage team members, providing leadership and continuous performance management.

Compensation

Salary range: $50.00 to $75.00 per hour, commensurate with experience, education and certifications.

Position Summary

Responsible for delivering complex multidiscipline engineering projects, interpreting, organizing, coordinating, communicating and executing assignments with limited supervision. Project performance shall meet and/or exceed client expectations. Manage financial and contract administration of assigned projects.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities
  • Manage project internal and external engineering resources, government agencies and client staffing to deliver high‑quality scopes on time and within budget.
  • Act as point of contact for clients, contractors and internal/external design and construction teams.
  • Build and develop client relationships to understand preferences, deliver quality projects, and seek repeat or new opportunities.
  • Communicate and coordinate with team members to ensure project completion by defined milestones and quality guidelines.
  • Manage multiple multidiscipline projects ensuring adherence to protocols and practices.
  • Provide direction and guidance to internal design team members and external subconsultants.
  • Ensure projects are constructed in accordance with design, budget and schedule.
  • Coordinate administrative aspects of projects including contract reviews, bidding, scheduling, month‑end processing, project accounting and reporting.
  • Represent the organization at community or business meetings.
  • Resolve or assist in resolving technical conflicts and mitigating technical risks.
  • Create project proposals, budgets, work breakdowns, rough order estimates, schedules and integration plans.
  • Develop monthly progress reports and review invoicing.
  • Establish and coordinate improvements to project management processes and procedures.
  • Develop project‑specific plans and quality management plans.
  • Participate in office’s project financial status meetings.
  • Assist leaders with marketing, proposal development and interview processes.
  • Provide coaching and mentorship to the project team through check‑ins and debriefs.
  • Lead and manage team members, providing leadership and continuous performance management.
Nonessential Functions & Responsibilities
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, SharePoint, Outlook)
  • Experience utilizing scheduling software (Microsoft Project or Primavera P6)
Required Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or architecture from an accredited program; registered PE or AIA preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in design and construction project management of multidiscipline project teams, including design oversight, statement of work development and project reporting.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a plus.
Working Conditions

Work is performed within a general office environment. Field work may be required occasionally in various conditions. Some lifting (up to 50 lbs.) may be required. Regional travel within the Maryland, Virginia, Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware area will occasionally be required for meetings.
