Wm T Spaeder Co, Inc. is seeking a Project Manager to lead and drive financial performance for piping systems in commercial and industrial facilities.

You will oversee projects from plan to closeout, coordinate field teams, and manage client relationships to secure future business. The role requires a Bachelor’s in a construction-related field, 5+ years in plumbing/mechanical/electrical contracting, strong knowledge of building codes, and OSHA-30 preferred.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a construction-related field or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years in the plumbing, mechanical and/or electrical contracting industry.
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local building codes.
  • Documented or planned completion of OSHA-30 Construction Training Course preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, execute, and finalize projects according to deadlines and within budget.
  • Manage the customer relationship with the objective of securing future business.
  • Define project scope, goals and deliverables that effectively govern the project through its lifecycle.
  • Assess and mitigate potential project risks.
  • Monitor operational and financial performance and regularly report status and forecast to management.
  • Track project milestones and deliverables.
  • Protect the company’s interest and rights through thorough documentation and timely communication with all internal and external project stakeholders.
  • Estimate the resources and participants needed, communicate expectations, and coordinate the efforts of team members and subcontractors to deliver projects according to plan.
  • Delegate tasks and responsibilities as appropriate.
  • Collaborate with design team & project engineers to ensure project success.
  • Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential crises and devise contingency plans.
  • Manage commissioning, startup, and closeout to ensure productivity and customer satisfaction.
  • Conduct project post-mortems showing project performance relative to plan
  • Work with field personnel and corporate safety to ensure projects are completed in accordance with applicable rules, regulations, and best practices.

Job description

The role of the Project Manager is to be responsible for the leadership and financial performance for assigned projects, focusing on piping systems associated commercial and industrial facilities.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Field (in collaboration with the Labor & Productivity Manager)

Duties/Responsibilities:

Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in a construction related field or equivalent work experience in mechanical construction industry.
  • 5+ years of experience in the plumbing, mechanical and/or electrical contracting industry.
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local building codes and construction laws.
  • Documented or planned completion of OSHA-30 Construction Training Course preferred.

Physical Requirements
  • This position operates in an office environment and utilizes standard office equipment.
  • This position will require time spent on-site during all times of the year.
  • This position regularly requires talking, hearing, independently lift up to 50lbs, repetitive motion and appropriate visual acuity and manual dexterity.
  • This position will require local travel with the possibility for out-of-town travel.
