Job summary

TSC in the Washington, DC area is seeking a Project Manager and Project Lead Engineer (Key). The role requires a final DoD SECRET clearance and hands-on leadership of spaceflight instrument programs.

You will coordinate with Government, NASA, co-contractors, academia, and industry to plan, direct, and execute complex payload systems from concept through closeout. Onsite work only.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, physics, business, or equivalent.
• 8–10 years of relevant experience.
• Experience planning, directing, and managing spaceflight instruments, experimental payloads, and satellite/sounding rocket systems.
• Experience coordinating with Government, NASA, co-contractors, academia, and industry.
• ITAR and defense trade regulation experience.
• Experience with space vehicle integration and safety hazard guidelines.
• Experience with space vehicle integration guidelines and interfaces.
• Interfacing with space vehicle/launch teams and safety managers.
• Prototype fabrication of space-qualified instruments.

Job description

TSC is seeking a Project Manager and Project Lead Engineer (Key). This position is onsite in the DC area. Personnel must possess a final DoD granted SECRET security clearance.

• Bachelor’s of Science in Engineering, Physics, Business or Equivalent and 8-10 years of experience
• Specific experience in the planning, direction, and program management of spaceflight instruments, experimental payloads, and satellite and sounding rocket systems.
• Relevant experience with spaceflight instrument and satellite systems program planning, directing, and coordinating from concept formulation through final closeout.
• Specific experience with the technical coordination process among Government, NASA, Co-contractor, Academic, and Industry personnel.
• Experience with the requirements for controlling information exchanges under the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and related defense trade acts.
• Relevant experience supporting the space vehicle integration process and experience with the appropriate guidelines and standards used for deriving safety hazards.
• Relevant experience with space vehicle integration guidelines, requirements, and standards used for deriving spaceflight instrument interface control, ground, and flight operation requirements.
• Specific experience interfacing with space vehicle and launch integration personnel, safety managers, and technical lead engineers to develop launch range documentation.
• Demonstrated experience with the fabrication and manufacture of prototype and limited production space-qualified instruments and payloads.
• Proficient with cross-platform word processing, project management, scheduling, spreadsheet, and database programs

In compliance with applicable pay transparency laws, the expected salary range for this position is $107,000 – $143,000 per year, depending on experience and location. This role is also eligible for an annual performance bonus and may include equity or incentive compensation as part of the total rewards package.
