Overview

Microsoft Cloud Operations and Innovation (CO&I) is the team behind the cloud. Within CO&I, the Engineering Procurement and Construction (EPC) team is responsible for delivering core datacenter infrastructure for Microsoft’s cloud business. The MS portfolio consists of complex, multi-disciplinary, large-scale, multi-year datacenter construction and lease projects.

We are looking for a passionate, high-energy individual to help build the cloud datacenters that power the world’s largest online services. In this role, you will provide leadership to the metros within your region, aligning priorities with the EPC functions while supporting the team to overcome obstacles.

While this role can be primarily remote, we are looking for leaders located near one of our regional hub locations. We are committed to cultivating an inclusive work environment for all employees, aligning with our Microsoft values.

Responsibilities
  1. Lead assigned EPC projects, ensuring project success and active engagement from CO+I Partners and Functional support teams.
  2. Communicate proactively about changes, share relevant information, and lead change management efforts. Promote a positive team environment, recognize team success, and delegate effectively.
  3. Hold self-accountable for EPC project delivery, monitor budgets, and resolve or escalate issues as needed.
  4. Partner with internal stakeholders and share process updates to improve cycle-time and efficiencies.
  5. Identify and incorporate cost-effective solutions, influence decision-making, and collaborate with internal teams and vendors.
  6. Oversee procurement activities, ensure resource availability, and support project timelines and budgets.
  7. Create and report on project progress, manage risks, and develop metrics to track performance.
  8. Ensure safety standards are met, conduct audits, and participate in incident investigations.
  9. Review technical documentation, identify risks, and ensure project alignment with standards and contracts.
  10. Embody Microsoft’s culture and values.
Qualifications
Required
  • Bachelor's Degree in Construction Project Management, Architecture, Engineering, or related field AND 12+ years of related experience, or equivalent experience.
Preferred
  • 15+ years experience on data center projects.
  • Experience in a matrix environment.
  • Bachelor's Degree in related fields AND 15+ years of experience, or equivalent.

Compensation ranges from USD $129,200 - $273,400 annually, with higher ranges in specific locations. Benefits vary and are detailed on the Microsoft careers site. Application deadline: February 15, 2025.
