Job summary

Northeast Ohio Medical University is seeking a Project Manager for the AI Studio within the Center for AI and Digital Experience (AIDE) to guide AI-enabled product development and technology initiatives.

The role partners with the Director of the AI Studio and the Executive Director of AIDE to establish scalable operations, manage scope, and deliver projects on time while aligning with institutional priorities. Hybrid work options are available.

Starting Salary Range: $70,117 – $91,153, commensurate with experience.

Summary

The Center for AI & Digital Experience ( AIDE ) is a joint, mission-driven center jointly established between University Hospitals (UH)–Northeast Ohio Medical University ( NEOMED ) to focus on advancing human-centered artificial intelligence in healthcare.

The Project Manager provides support for artificial intelligence (AI) and technology-driven initiatives across the AI Studio, the Product and Technology Core within the Center for AIDE . This role is responsible for project management activities, including supporting the planning, coordination, and execution of AI-enabled product development, technology infrastructure, and innovation programs. The Project Manager plays a key role in ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned with institutional priorities. This position works closely with the Director of the AI Studio and the Executive Director of AIDE to support the development of a scalable, efficient product and technology core.

Principal Functional Responsibilities

Project Planning and Execution: Lead day-to-day management of multiple concurrent projects across AI product development, infrastructure buildout, and innovation initiatives. Develop detailed project plans that include scope, timelines, milestones, resource allocation, and risk mitigation strategies. Track progress against deliverables and proactively address barriers to ensure timely completion. Coordinate project activities across cross-functional teams, including technical, clinical, academic, and administrative stakeholders.

Program Development and AI Studio Support: Provide direct support to leadership with the initial establishment of the AI Studio’s technical foundation, including infrastructure setup, pilot project execution, and integration of new programs into the AI Studio framework. Develop and implement core project management processes, tools, and standards, including structured workflows for project intake, prioritization, tracking, and reporting. Contribute to the development of documentation, workflows, and guidelines that enable efficient administration and operations. Ensure alignment of project management practices with institutional policies and compliance requirements.

Stakeholder Coordination and Communication: Serve as a central point of coordination for project stakeholders, including product managers, AI engineers, and IT personnel, ensuring clear communication of goals, timelines, and expectations. Coordinate closely with IT, compliance, clinical, academic, and administrative partners to ensure that AI Studio projects align with existing institutional systems, governance processes, and production deployment pathways. Facilitate meetings, document decisions, and track action items. Provide regular status updates to leadership, including identification of risks, dependencies, and resource needs. Support alignment between technical teams, leadership, and external partners.

Administrative Responsibilities: Maintain project documentation, including timelines, reports, and performance metrics. Support the preparation of reports and materials for internal and external stakeholders. Assist with budget tracking and resource utilization monitoring, as needed.

Miscellaneous Duties: Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business, healthcare administration, engineering, information technology, or a related field.
• Minimum three years of experience in project management, preferably in healthcare, technology, or academic environments.
• Demonstrated proficiency with collaboration, documentation, reporting, and project tracking tools, including Microsoft Office/Teams and project management platforms.
• Project Management Professional ( PMP ), Lean Six Sigma Black Belt, Scrum, Agile, or equivalent project management credential required, or required within a specified period after hire.
• Demonstrated experience managing complex projects with multiple stakeholders.
• Demonstrated ability to operate in a dynamic, evolving environment where processes, workflows, and stakeholder expectations are still being developed.
• Demonstrated knowledge of agile, hybrid, and product-oriented project management approaches, with the ability to adapt methods to complex, cross-functional initiatives.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting technology, data science, or artificial intelligence initiatives.
• Experience working within academic medical centers or health systems.
• Experience with project management tools such as Asana, Jira, Monday.com, MS Project, etc.
• Certificates in human-centered design or design thinking (e.g., IDEOU , LUMA Institute, IBM Design Thinking).

Physical Requirements

Must be able to utilize a phone, computer, and other office equipment. Must be able and willing to travel to off-site events and educational sessions.
