Job summary

Chart Industries seeks a Project Manager AFM to lead engineering projects from order receipt to delivery, ensuring schedule, budget, quality and customer satisfaction. You will own client relationships, coordinate with engineering, supply chain and quality, and guide cross‑functional teams through milestones and risk mitigation.

The role requires 5+ years in project management within heavy industrial settings and a Bachelor’s in engineering or equivalent experience.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in project management within engineering/industrial/construction.
• Proven ability to lead cross‑functional teams and manage complex customer accounts.
• Experience in financial aspects of project management (margin, cash flow).
• Travel occasional as required.

This role will be based out of either Buffalo, NY; Medina, OH; or Tulsa, OK with the option of a hybrid schedule.

What Will You Do?

• Take full ownership of projects from order receipt through delivery, ensuring financial, schedule, quality, and customer satisfaction objectives are met.
• Own the customer relationship as the primary point of contact, driving communication strategy, resolving critical escalations, aligning expectations, and safeguarding customer satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle.
• Function as the key point person for engineering, supply chain, quality, and logistics, facilitating communication and collaboration across teams.
• Develop and manage project schedules, budgets, and resource plans, ensuring alignment with project objectives and business targets.
• Lead project execution by overseeing milestone tracking, reporting, follow‑up activities, and risk mitigation to ensure on‑time delivery, margin protection, and overall project performance.

Your Physical Work Environment Will Require…

Your Experience Should Be...

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in project management within an engineering, heavy industrial or construction firm.
• Proven ability to lead cross‑functional teams and manage complex customer accounts.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field, or 10 years’ experience in project management‑related roles evidencing similar job responsibilities and outcomes.
• Experience in financial aspects of project management (margin, variance, cash flow).
• High ethical standards, teamwork, and compliance with regulations.
• Strong organizational, time management, accuracy, and communication skills.
• Advanced problem‑solving and negotiation skills, with the ability to recognize when to elevate issues
• Ability to travel on occasion, as required.
• Experience in matrix organizations, using influence and indirect leadership.
• Experience in ERP systems, preferably JD Edwards
