Job summary

CRB is seeking a Project Manager in Kansas City, MO to lead design and construction management across life sciences and food & beverage sectors. The role focuses on directing large, complex teams, managing costs and schedules, and delivering integrated solutions for clients.

You will act as the primary client contact, coordinate internal and external design professionals, and ensure high-quality outcomes while advancing CRB’s standards and processes.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 5+ years of relevant project management experience, preferably within an architecture or engineering design firm.
  • Demonstrated experience managing design projects or serving as a Project Manager or Assistant Project Manager on complex, multidisciplinary teams.
  • Experience in Life Sciences, Food & Beverage, AEC, Pharma, Advanced Manufacturing, related field, preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage multidisciplinary design projects, coordinating architectural and engineering teams through all phases of design delivery
  • Develop and manage project work plans, schedules, and budgets to support high-quality, on-time, and on-budget design execution
  • Serve as the primary client contact during the design phase, fostering trusted relationships and ensuring a positive client experience
  • Facilitate clear communication and collaboration across internal teams, consultants, and stakeholders
  • Monitor project progress, risks, and changes; proactively identify and address scope, schedule, or budget impacts
  • Ensure adherence to CRB’s design standards, quality procedures, and project controls
  • Support project staffing needs in coordination with discipline leaders
  • Track and report project performance metrics, including financials, schedule adherence, and client satisfaction
  • Contribute to business development efforts by supporting client relationships and identifying opportunities for follow-on work

The Project Manager is responsible for the direction and performance of consulting, design or construction management services for assigned project(s) of a nature greater in scope, valuation and complexity and with larger teamsthan those generally managed by the Project Manager. Responsible for client relationship management, including creating a positive experience that will lead to future work. Projects often include several subcontracts and may include several aspects of an integrated ONEsolution delivery methodology.

Location: Kansas City, MO - Hybrid work mode, three days in office

  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant project management experience, preferably within an architecture or engineering design firm
  • Demonstrated experience managing design projects or serving as a Project Manager or Assistant Project Manager on complex, multidisciplinary teams
  • Experience in Life Sciences, Food & Beverage, AEC, Pharma, Advanced Manufacturing, related field,preferred
Additional Qualifications
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
  • Collaborative, team-oriented approach with the ability to lead and influence diverse design teams
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced design environment
  • Foundational understanding of architectural and engineering disciplines and the design project lifecycle
  • Professional certification (e.g., PMP, AECPM™) is preferred or willingness to obtain
