Position Reports To: Danny McClain, VP of Data Strategy

Position Location: This is an in-person role located in San Antonio, TX

You

  • Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree preferred.
  • Experience in project management, academic operations, or campus leadership in a school district or charter network.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in data management systems, dashboarding tools, and academic tracking systems.
  • Experience coordinating professional development, testing logistics, and procurement processes.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across departments and manage cross-functional projects.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Competitive salary based upon credentials and experience ranging from $56,000 - $76,000 out on a 12-month basis.

Your Mission

The Project Manager - Academics will play a critical role in ensuring the successful implementation of academic programs and initiatives across the district. This individual will oversee district-wide testing coordination, academic systems management, professional development logistics, procurement, and communications. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and skilled in cross-functional collaboration to drive excellence in academic operations with strong communication.

Your Responsibilities

District Testing Coordination

  • Serve as the District Testing Coordinator, ensuring compliance with state and local assessment requirements.
  • Manage testing logistics, including scheduling, materials distribution, training, and compliance tracking.
  • Provide support and training to school-based testing coordinators and ensure smooth test administration.

Academic Systems & Accountability

  • Act as the liaison to the VP of Data Strategy & VP of IT/IT Team to ensure academic data dashboarding and system functionality meet district needs.
  • Maintain systems of accountability for academic program implementation, including academic dashboards related to inputs, outputs, and outcomes.
  • Monitor data trends and provide actionable insights to academic leadership.
  • Oversee the tracking and reporting of key academic metrics.

Meeting Facilitation & Record Keeping

  • Facilitate central office academic team meetings, ensuring effective agenda-setting, documentation, and follow-up on action items.
  • Maintain records of next steps and accountability measures for key initiatives.

Academic Procurement & Resource Distribution

  • Work with the CAO and Directors of Curriculum & Instruction (DCIs) to establish a vision for academic procurement and resource distribution.
  • Collaborate with Finance & Operations teams to ensure strategic purchasing and efficient distribution of academic materials.
  • Maintain oversight of inventory management and procurement processes to ensure schools receive necessary resources in a timely manner.

Academic Communications & Family Engagement

  • Develop and implement internal communication strategies to ensure academic teams and school leaders are aligned on initiatives.
  • Oversee the family curriculum access strategy, ensuring families have clear and timely access to academic resources and curriculum materials.
  • Support the development of clear and concise academic messaging across multiple platforms.
