Description
MGT Impact Solutions is seeking a qualified candidate to be a Consulting Project Manager – Operational Technology Topology Modernization (OTTM) for their client. Successful candidates will be MGT employees contracted to MGT's client.
Primary Duties
- Develop and maintain the integrated OTTM Project Management Plan, including phases, milestones, dependencies, deliverables, implementation sequencing, testing, commissioning, and final acceptance.
- Establish and maintain the master project schedule and track critical-path activities.
- Coordinate activities across data centers, passenger stations, lab/training environments, field locations, cybersecurity implementation, and production deployments.
- Coordinate multiple technology vendors, OEMs, systems integrators, contractors, cybersecurity partners, engineering teams, and operational stakeholders.
- Track vendor commitments, contractual milestones, dependencies, deliverables, and outstanding action items.
- Manage project expenditures, commitments, invoices, milestone payments, professional services, hardware/software costs, and remaining contingency.
- Maintain project scope and formal change-control processes.
- Maintain an active Risk, Issue, Action, and Decision (RAID) Register.
- Coordinate design workshops and engineering reviews and ensure decisions are documented and tracked through closure.
- Coordinate site readiness, installations, testing, migrations, cutovers, commissioning, and acceptance.
- Lead regular project coordination meetings and prepare weekly executive project-status reports.
Essential Functions
- Manage the execution of a complex, multi-site OT/network infrastructure modernization program.
- Track hardware delivery, design approvals, lab testing, site readiness, installation, cutovers, FAT/SAT activities, training, documentation, and system acceptance.
- Identify schedule risks and critical-path concerns early and develop mitigation and recovery plans.
- Coordinate site-readiness requirements involving racks, power, UPS/PDU,fiber, cabling, conduit, environmental requirements, field access, and installation prerequisites.
- Coordinate Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), lab validation, Site Acceptance Testing (SAT), commissioning, migration, rollback, and acceptance procedures.
- Coordinate cybersecurity requirements, including network segmentation, firewalls, access control, monitoring, logging/SIEM integration, vulnerability management, remote access, asset visibility, and security validation.
- Coordinate planned outages, maintenance windows, operational notifications, change-control activities, and field access.
- Track deficiencies, punch-list items, corrective actions, and final acceptance.
- Maintain comprehensive project and configuration documentation.
- Provide leadership with clear visibility into project progress, upcoming milestones, risks, decisions, vendor commitments, schedule, and budget.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Education Required
- Demonstrated knowledge of project and program management principles for complex technology and infrastructure initiatives.
- Strong understanding of Operational Technology, enterprise network infrastructure, data centers, telecommunications, cybersecurity, or systems integration.
- Knowledge of project scheduling, critical-path management, RAID management, scope/change control, budgeting, forecasting, and vendor management.
- Experience coordinating multiple vendors, contractors, engineering teams, cybersecurity teams, and operational stakeholders.
- Understanding of network infrastructure deployment, site readiness, testing, commissioning, migrations, and controlled cutovers.
- Ability to manage projects within mission-critical and 24×7 operational environments.
- Strong analytical, organizational, documentation, communication, stakeholder-management, and executive-reporting skills.
- Experience with Arista, CloudVision, Cisco, network switches, firewalls, network segmentation, monitoring/SIEM, or related networking and cybersecurity technologies is highly desirable.
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Business, Project Management, or a related discipline is preferred.
- PMP or equivalent project-management certification is preferred.
Position Requirements
- Significant experience managing large, complex, multi-site technology or infrastructure modernization projects.
- Project-management experience involving OT, network infrastructure, telecommunications, data centers, cybersecurity, or systems integration.
- Experience managing vendors, OEMs, systems integrators, contractors, and internal technical teams.
- Experience with infrastructure deployments, field/site readiness, network migrations, testing, commissioning, cutovers, and formal acceptance.
- Experience within transit/rail, airports/aviation, utilities, government, telecommunications, data centers, or other mission-critical environments is strongly preferred.
- Ability to work onsite at client locations throughout the San Francisco Bay Area as required by the project.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Hourly Wage and Selection Process
The hourly pay rate for this position is $80–$90 per hour on W2, depending on qualifications and relevant experience.
