Job summary

Baylor Scott & White Health is seeking a Project Manager 2 to organize and lead moderate to large-scale projects that support strategic priorities. You will collaborate with leadership and cross-functional teams to ensure on-time delivery, within scope and budget, aligned with business objectives.

The role requires strong organizational skills, influence without authority, and effective partnership with stakeholders at all levels to drive adoption and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Healthcare, or related field.
  • Experience managing moderate to large-scale projects.
  • Experience leading cross-functional initiatives involving multiple stakeholders.
  • Healthcare operations or healthcare project management experience preferred.
  • Experience with waterfall and agile methodologies.
  • Proficiency with PM tools such as SmartSheet, Planview, Azure DevOps.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with executive leaders, operational leaders, and cross-functional stakeholders to support strategic initiatives.
  • Facilitate alignment among stakeholders with varying priorities and responsibilities to ensure successful project execution.
  • Coordinates multiple concurrent initiatives and ensures appropriate follow-up, accountability, and sustainment of project deliverables.
  • Identifies opportunities for process improvement, operational efficiency, and technology-enabled solutions.
  • Supports change management, stakeholder engagement, and communication efforts associated with project implementation.
  • Utilizes data, reporting tools, and emerging technologies to improve project visibility, decision-making, and operational effectiveness.
  • Develops project plans to ensure feasibility of project with proper resourcing and effective change management.
  • Establishes project deliverables and timeframes and holds project team accountable for completion, keeping in mind both short-term and long-term goals.
  • Establishes clear project charter, team roles, responsibilities and accountabilities to ensure success of project.
  • Prepares and presents project scope document and achieves agreement on project parameters and goals.
  • Receives approvals at each phase of project.
  • Manages feasibility studies, business planning, and benefit assessments. Ensures cost, benefit, and risk elements are identified and considered.
  • Identify staffing, equipment, and financial resources needed to complete the project on time, within budget, and according to goals.
  • Interfaces with other departments to obtain needed resources to complete projects within expectations and timeframes.
  • Manages moderate to large scale and complex projects to ensure quality and timely achievement of project deliverables and goals.
  • Prepares and maintains project documentation, including project plans, schedules, budgets and status reports.
  • Communicates task assignments and due dates in a clear, professional and timely manner.
  • Anticipates potential issues and mitigates them by managing the work plan effectively.
  • Monitors project status and resolves risks, issues, and action items. Provides recommendations to leadership for support when needed.
  • Provides periodic status reports and resolves project problems and issues in a timely manner.
  • Facilitates team meetings to discuss project progress (daily stand-ups if using Agile methodology).
  • Serves as a contact to senior management and key stakeholders to report project progress and to assist with problem resolution.
  • Supervises the day-to-day activities of team members in an effective, timely, and professional manner.
  • Prepares schedules, makes job assignments, monitors personnel, and maintains personnel and patient records according to policies and procedures.
  • Manages vendors and consultant partners ensuring contract compliance and expected performance. Serves as liaison between end users and project team members as required.
  • Maintains business operations and applications knowledge level to provide required information as needed.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Healthcare, or related field preferred
  • Demonstrated experience managing moderate to large-scale projects and competing priorities in a complex environment.
  • Experience leading cross-functional initiatives involving multiple stakeholders.
  • Healthcare operations, healthcare administration, or healthcare project management experience preferred.
  • Experience supporting executive leaders, operational leaders, or enterprise-wide initiatives preferred.
  • Experience in both waterfall and agile methodologies
  • Experience with project management tools such as SmartSheet, Planview, Azure Dev Ops, etc.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent certification preferred.
  • Ability to influence, build consensus, and drive results without direct reporting authority.
  • Strong project planning, prioritization, and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and initiatives simultaneously.
  • Excellent relationship-building and stakeholder management skills.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills with audiences at all levels of the organization.

  • Experience leveraging Microsoft Office applications and collaboration tools, including familiarity with AI-enabled productivity tools such as Microsoft Copilot, preferred.
  • Ability to analyze information, identify trends, and communicate recommendations effectively.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, follow-through, and accountability.
  • Aptitude for quickly understanding new processes and technical concepts and communicating them to a different audience.
