Job summary

Birlasoft is seeking an experienced Project Manager with strong Property & Casualty (P&C) insurance domain expertise to lead technology implementations in Iselin, New Jersey. This is a hybrid role with three days per week on client site.

You will own end-to-end delivery across policy administration, underwriting, claims, billing, and product and rating, coordinating with business and IT leaders, SI partners, and distributed delivery teams to ensure predictable, high-quality results.

Qualifications

  • 12 to 15+ years of IT experience.
  • 5+ years of project management within Property & Casualty Insurance.
  • Experience delivering insurance technology implementations, modernization, or transformations.
  • Strong client-facing and executive communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Own end-to-end project delivery including scope, schedule, budget, resources, risks, dependencies, and quality.
  • Lead large-scale P&C insurance implementations, modernization, upgrades, enhancements, and transformation initiatives.
  • Drive project planning, sprint execution, milestone tracking, dependency management, and release management.
  • Establish and maintain project governance, RAID logs, delivery metrics, dashboards, and executive reporting.
  • Coordinate business, functional, technical, QA, data, integration, DevOps, and infrastructure workstreams.
  • Manage Agile, Scrum, Waterfall, or hybrid delivery methodologies.
  • Partner with stakeholders across policy administration, underwriting, claims, billing, renewals, product/rating, and agent/broker distribution.
  • Serve as a key on-site client-facing point of contact for business, IT, and leadership stakeholders.
  • Lead steering committees, governance meetings, status reviews, and executive-level communications.
  • Coordinate cross-functional, offshore/nearshore, and multi-vendor teams.
  • Proactively identify and manage risks, issues, assumptions, dependencies, escalations, and mitigation plans.
  • Oversee testing governance, defect management, UAT readiness, production readiness, cutover, deployment, and post-production support.
  • Track project financials, including budget, actuals, burn rate, resource utilization, and forecasts.
  • Manage scope changes and support commercial/vendor discussions as required.

Job description

We are looking for an experienced Project Manager with strong Property & Casualty (P&C) Insurance domain expertise to lead complex technology implementation, modernization, and transformation initiatives for a leading client in Iselin, New Jersey.

Work Model: Hybrid, its 3 days/week from the client office in Iselin, NJ (Mandatory)

Experience: 12 to 15+ years of overall IT experience

P&C Insurance Experience: 5+ years managing projects/programs in the P&C insurance domain

As a P&C Insurance Project Manager, you will own the end-to-end delivery of technology programs across core insurance functions, including Policy Administration, Underwriting, Claims, Billing, Product & Rating, Integrations, Data Migration, and Digital Transformation.

You will work closely with client business and IT leadership, system integrators, vendors, and geographically distributed delivery teams to ensure predictable, high-quality, and cost-effective project delivery.

12 to 15+ years of overall IT experience

5+ years of project/program management experience within Property & Casualty Insurance

Strong understanding of the P&C insurance lifecycle

Experience delivering insurance technology implementation, modernization, enhancement, or transformation programs

Strong knowledge of Policy Administration, Underwriting, Claims, Billing, and Renewals

Experience with integrations, data migration/conversion, and enterprise system dependencies

Proven experience managing cross-functional, geographically distributed, and multi-vendor teams

Strong client-facing, stakeholder management, communication, and executive presentation skills

Experience with Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps, MS Project, or similar tools

Strong understanding of Agile/Scrum/Waterfall or hybrid delivery models

Preferred / Good to Have

  • Experience with **Guidewire InsuranceSuite
