Job summary

Motion Recruitment seeks a Technical Project Manager to lead complex product development programs for robotics, medical devices, and advanced tech. You’ll coordinate engineering, industrial design, quality, manufacturing and vendors to meet scope, budget, and timeline.

You’ll be the primary client contact, ensuring high-quality delivery while guiding teams through the full lifecycle from concept to commercialization.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a technical discipline.
  • 3+ years PM/TPM or engineering leadership experience.
  • 4+ years on multidisciplinary product development teams.
  • Understand full product lifecycle from concept to manufacturing.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams: mech, electrical, embedded software, industrial design, quality, manufacturing.
  • Manage schedules, budgets, risks, and deliverables.
  • Excellent client-facing communication and stakeholder management.
  • Able to travel domestically up to 25%.

An innovative product development and engineering consulting firm is seeking a Technical Project Manager to lead the successful delivery of complex product development programs for clients across robotics, medical devices, industrial automation, and advanced technology industries.

Required Skills & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or another technical discipline.
  • 3+ years of Project Management, Technical Program Management, or Engineering Leadership experience.
  • 4+ years working on multidisciplinary product development teams.
  • Strong understanding of the complete product development lifecycle, from concept through manufacturing and commercialization.
  • Experience managing cross-functional engineering teams including:

    • Industrial Design

  • Experience managing project schedules, budgets, timelines, risks, and deliverables.

  • Ability to understand technical challenges and communicate effectively with both engineering teams and executive stakeholders.
  • Experience leading multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and project management tools such as Microsoft Project, Jira, Asana, or similar platforms.
  • Willingness to travel domestically up to 25%.
Desired Skills & Experience
  • PMP Certification or equivalent Project Management certification.
  • Experience managing robotics, automation, medical device, or other complex hardware development programs.
  • Experience working within engineering consulting or product development organizations.
  • Familiarity with Design Controls, Quality Management Systems (QMS), and regulated product development.
  • Experience supporting proposal development, Statements of Work (SOWs), and client presentations.
  • Knowledge of ERP systems, project financial management, and resource planning.
  • Experience identifying new business opportunities within existing client relationships.
  • Strong understanding of Agile, Stage-Gate, or hybrid product development methodologies.
