Job summary

Insight Global is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead planning, design, and execution of municipal parks, recreation, and public infrastructure projects from concept through construction. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with park improvements, trails, playgrounds, and streetscape enhancements.

This role requires strong communication, risk management, and the ability to drive projects in a fast-paced municipal environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Landscape Architecture, Urban Planning, Architecture, Parks and Recreation Management, or related field.
  • 5+ years of project management experience supporting municipal capital improvement projects.
  • Direct experience managing municipal parks, recreation, or public space development projects.
  • Experience overseeing consultant and contractor relationships.
  • Knowledge of project budgeting, scheduling, procurement, and contract administration.
  • Familiarity with municipal government processes, public funding mechanisms, and capital improvement programs.
  • Strong stakeholder management and public-facing communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Manage multiple municipal park and recreation projects through planning, design, permitting, procurement, construction, and closeout.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for municipal staff, consultants, contractors, and community stakeholders.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, scopes, and risk mitigation plans.
  • Coordinate design reviews, permitting activities, environmental considerations, and public engagement efforts.
  • Review and manage consultant and contractor deliverables to ensure compliance with project requirements and municipal standards.
  • Monitor project budgets, funding sources, and contract performance.
  • Facilitate public meetings, stakeholder presentations, and project status updates.
  • Coordinate with parks and recreation departments, public works teams, engineering consultants, and regulatory agencies.
  • Review construction progress, change orders, pay applications, and project documentation.
  • Ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with applicable regulations and quality standards.
  • Prepare reports, project summaries, and recommendations for leadership and governing bodies.
