Just Construction Recruitment is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead commercial glazing and façade projects in Sterling, VA, including government and federally funded work. The role requires coordinating with GCs, owners, architects, engineers, and government representatives to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in PM roles within glazing or building envelope sectors, with strong drawing interpretation, RFIs, and cost control skills.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of Project Management experience in commercial glazing, curtain wall, façade, or related specialty contracting.
  • Experience managing government or federally funded construction projects is strongly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of commercial glazing and building envelope systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings, shop drawings, specifications, and contracts.
  • Experience with RFIs, submittals, procurement, scheduling, change orders, and cost control.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
  • Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Project or similar construction software experience preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Manage commercial glazing and façade projects from contract award through final completion.
  • Oversee government and commercial projects from preconstruction through installation and closeout.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for GCs, owners, architects, engineers, and government representatives.
  • Review drawings, specifications, contracts, scopes of work, and project requirements.
  • Coordinate curtain wall, storefront, windows, glass, and façade systems.
  • Manage RFIs, submittals, shop drawings, change orders, procurement, fabrication, delivery, and installation schedules.
  • Coordinate engineering and design activities with internal and external teams.
  • Monitor project budgets, costs, schedules, and profitability.
  • Work closely with estimating, engineering, fabrication, procurement, and field operations.
  • Attend project meetings and provide regular project updates.
  • Identify project risks and develop solutions to avoid schedule or cost impacts.
  • Coordinate with field superintendents and installation crews to ensure safe, compliant delivery.
  • Manage subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers.
  • Review progress billings, change orders, and closeout documentation.
  • Maintain strong client relationships and support repeat business.

Job description

A leading specialty glazing and building envelope contractor is seeking an experienced Project Manager to join its team in Sterling, VA.

This position will oversee commercial glazing and façade projects, including government and federally funded work, from contract award through completion. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in commercial glazing, curtain wall, storefront, windows, or other building envelope systems and be comfortable working on projects with strict security and compliance requirements.

IMPORTANT REQUIREMENTS
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • Must be able to successfully complete a background check
  • Must be eligible to work on government / federally funded projects
  • Previous experience working on government, federal, military, or other security-sensitive construction projects is highly preferred
  • Must be able to meet any additional project-specific security or access requirements
