Job summary

SLS Consultants in Kansas City, MO is seeking a Project Manager (MEP) to lead data center retrofit and infrastructure projects. You will coordinate mechanical, electrical, and plumbing scopes with owners, vendors, and field teams, and drive schedules, budgets, RFIs, and change orders to ensure smooth delivery in mission-critical environments.

The ideal candidate has 3–8 years in PM/Engineering roles within MEP or related fields. Data Center experience is a plus but not required.

Qualifications

• 3-8 years of Project Management, Assistant Project Management, or Project Engineering experience.
• Experience with MEP, Mechanical, Electrical, HVAC, Plumbing, Industrial, Commercial, Healthcare, or Mission Critical projects.
• Strong scheduling, budgeting, contracts, and construction coordination.
• Data Center experience is a plus but not required.
• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred.

We are currently seeking a Project Manager (MEP) in Kansas City, MO to support a growing portfolio of Data Center retrofit, infrastructure, and facility improvement projects.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Project Engineer, Assistant Project Manager, or Project Manager currently working for an MEP Contractor, Mechanical Contractor, Electrical Contractor, Engineering Firm, or General Contractor who is looking to transition into the rapidly growing Data Center sector.

The ideal candidate will have experience coordinating mechanical, electrical, and building infrastructure projects and is looking to apply that experience within mission-critical environments. Data Center experience is preferred but not required.

• Ability to work effectively in fast-paced, technically complex environments.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience with facility upgrades, renovations, retrofit projects, or operational facilities is highly desirable.
• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred.
• Data Center experience is a plus but not required.
