Job summary

SLS Consultants is seeking a Project Manager (MEP) in Kansas City, MO to support Data Center retrofit, infrastructure, and facility improvement projects. Ideal candidates have 3–8 years in PM/Engineering roles and experience coordinating MEP scopes in mission-critical environments.

Relocation can be accommodated. Data Center experience is preferred but not required; strong budgeting, scheduling, and stakeholder management skills are essential for success in this fast-paced, high-impact role.

Qualifications

• 3–8 years of Project Management, AP/PEM, or Project Engineering experience.
• Experience with MEP, Mechanical, Electrical, HVAC, Plumbing, or Mission Critical projects.
• Strong scheduling, budgeting, contracts, and coordination knowledge.
• Able to work in fast-paced, technically complex environments.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience with facility upgrades, retrofits, or operational facilities is desirable.
• Data Center experience is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Support planning and execution of Data Center retrofit, upgrade, and infrastructure projects.
• Coordinate MEP scopes with owners, contractors, vendors, and field teams.
• Manage project schedules, procurement, RFIs, submittals, and change orders.
• Drive safety, quality, and operational excellence across all phases.
• Support modernization, capacity expansion, and infrastructure improvements.
• Identify risks and develop mitigation strategies.
• Ensure delivery while maintaining operational continuity in active facilities.
• Build strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and project teams.
