Steel Fabrication Subcontract Manager – Railroad Bridge

Remote with Site Travel to Alabama

A top North American bridge fabricator is looking for a Subcontract Manager to oversee steel fabrication partners on a major railroad bridge project based in Alabama. This is a remote-first role with fully covered travel for site visits and quality reviews.

What You’ll Do:

• Manage structural steel fabrication subcontractors for a high-profile infrastructure project
• Serve as the key point of contact between subs and internal project teams
• Track schedules, quality control, and compliance with contract terms
• Conduct facility audits and progress reviews
• Work cross-functionally with engineering, procurement, and field operations
• Mitigate subcontractor risks and maintain documentation
• Ensure all work aligns with AISC, AWS, and safety standards

What You Bring:

• 5+ years managing steel or bridge fabrication subcontractors
• In-depth understanding of steel fabrication workflows and industry codes
• Strong coordination, communication, and compliance experience
• Comfortable working remotely and on-site as needed
• Willing to travel to the Alabama project site periodically
• Remote flexibility with travel covered
