Job summary

Southland Industries is seeking a Project Manager to lead delivery resources and manage client relationships on small to mid-size projects or part of larger ones. You will be accountable for on-time delivery, favorable cashflow, and achieving client goals while coordinating with subcontractors and internal teams.

Expect to manage budgets, invoicing, and schedules; ensure compliance with building codes and permits; and drive risk mitigation.

Qualifications

  • Four-year degree or applicable experience.
  • 5+ years of experience including construction team management.
  • Knowledge of HVAC, lighting, controls, generation and water systems.
  • Strong verbal, written and presentation skills.
  • Experience collaborating across multiple teams and subcontractors.
  • Knowledge of building construction processes, codes and permitting.
  • Strong computer skills including ERP and Microsoft Office (Excel, MS Projects).
  • Willing to work at a project site.

Responsibilities

Job description

This position is responsible for leading project delivery resources and managing client relationships in delivering small to medium sized projects, or a portion of a larger, more complex project. Accountable for successful financial project delivery, meeting project schedule, and achieving the client’s project goals.

  • Generally, leads small to medium sized projects, or a portion of a larger more complex project.
  • Manages and maintains positive client relationship.
  • Manages budget reports, cost and revenue projections, change orders, etc. for a project.
  • Ensures project is cashflow positive by developing schedule of values and managing client invoicing. Assists in ensuring prompt payment as required.
  • Organizes and leads project meetings with clients and internal departments.
  • Partners with stakeholders to ensure scope and direction of project is on schedule and budget.
  • In collaboration with the project team, mitigates project risks to avoid write-downs.
  • Manages contract documentation requirements from kick off to closeout.
  • Facilitates and manages communications regarding project scope with subcontractors and clients.

Pay:

Final pay is determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data. For California, this ranges from $128,390.00 - $156,921.00 plus annual incentive, benefits, and retirement program as outlined above.
