Job summary

Valeo North America Inc. in Michigan seeks a high-potential Project Manager to lead advanced software and system-level projects from a management perspective.

You will bridge System, Software, and Validation teams, ensuring alignment with quality, safety, and timing while coordinating with R&D, Finance, Sales, and Industrial groups to drive program success. You will maintain project timelines, drive Change Requests, and ensure compliance with V-Model, ASPICE, Functional Safety ISO 26262, and

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical, Embedded, or Computer Engineering required.
• PMP certification is beneficial for project leadership roles.
• Experience in software development, system architecture, or system validation highly valued.
• Ability to translate complex technical issues into clear status updates for stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead Technical Workstreams and drive advanced SW/System projects.
• Act as the primary bridge between System, Software, and System Validation teams.
• Interface with R&D, Finance, Sales, and Industrial teams to align progress with goals.
• Maintain and audit project timelines across the portfolio; flag risks to schedule.
• Own the Change Register and drive Change Requests to completion.
• Ensure compliance with V-Model, ASPICE, Functional Safety (ISO 26262), and Cyber Security requirements.
• Apply Agile, Scrum, or Waterfall frameworks for resource allocation and scheduling.
• Conduct internal audits on project documentation to ensure industry-standard compliance.

About the Role: We are seeking a high-potential project engineer with a passion for leadership to join us as a Project Manager. You will be tasked with leading advanced software and system-level projects from a management perspective. You will act as the vital link between technical engineering execution and business strategy, ensuring our projects meet the highest standards of quality, safety, and timing.

Key Responsibilities: Project Leadership & Coordination: Lead Technical Workstreams: Drive advanced SW/System projects Cross-Functional Interface: Act as the primary bridge between System, Software, and System Validation teams to ensure technical alignment and transparency. Stakeholder Management: Interface with R&D, Finance, Sales, and Industrial teams to align project progress with broader organizational goals. Planning & Governance Schedule Integrity: Maintain and audit project timelines across the portfolio. You will ensure milestones are met and proactively flag risks to the schedule. Change Management: Own the Change Register. You will drive discussions across the PM team to ensure all Change Request (CR) details are documented, analyzed for impact, and tracked to completion. Process Compliance: Support and manage workflows involving V-Model, ASPICE, Functional Safety (ISO 26262), and Cyber Security requirements. Operational Excellence Methodology Implementation: Apply Agile, Scrum, or Waterfall frameworks (as appropriate) for resource allocation and task scheduling. Audit & Quality: Conduct internal audits on project documentation to ensure compliance with industry standards.

Education What You Should Have: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical, Embedded, or Computer Engineering. An interest in or pursuit of a PMP certification is highly beneficial. Engineering Foundation: Previous experience in software development, system architecture, or system validation. Systems Literacy: Understanding of infrastructure, hardware-software integration, and the complexities of embedded systems. Strategic Communication: A proven ability to translate complex technical bottlenecks into clear, actionable status updates for non-technical stakeholders. Influential Leadership: The ability to drive consensus and move teams forward without having direct hierarchical authority. Problem Solving: A diagnostic mindset capable of resolving both technical hurdles and operational inefficiencies.
