Job summary

Valeo North America is seeking an Engineering Disciplines professional within the System organization. This full-time, permanent role focuses on delivering innovative automotive engineering solutions and advancing digitalization with cross-functional teams in a dynamic R&D environment.

You will lead technical projects, ensure budgets and schedules, and share knowledge across disciplines to drive cost-effective, high-quality results for next-generation mobility technologies.

Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in electronics or related field is required or preferred.
  • 5 years experience in a similar role, automotive experience preferred.
  • Experience with vision systems (camera, imager) preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Self-starter with ability to work with little supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Budget commitment: optimize resources and control costs.
  • Lead the technical execution of engineering projects (N2–N3 designs).
  • Apply QRQC and root-cause analysis for problem solving.
  • Communicate complex technical solutions to customers and stakeholders.
  • Share knowledge and best practices across teams and disciplines.

Job Responsibilities

Depending on their scope, the incumbent will be in charge of one the domain:

  • Budget Budget Commitment: Demonstrate commitment to achieving project budgets by optimizing resource allocation and adhering to cost-effective engineering practices.
  • Support operations: Lead Complex Projects: Lead the technical execution of engineering projects, particularly those involving Newness levels 2-3 (new designs based on existing knowledge or design based on existing rules).
  • Technical Problem Solving: Serve as a referent for critical problem solving within the Discipline, utilizing Valeo standard methodologies like QRQC (Quick Response Quality Control) to identify root causes and implement effective solutions.
  • Customer Communication: Effectively communicate complex technical solutions and challenges to internal and external customers, ensuring clarity and understanding.
  • Technical Transversal Sharing: Proactively share technical knowledge and best practices across teams and divisions, fostering collaboration and knowledge dissemination.
Competencies
  • Technical Coaching and Mentoring: Provide technical guidance and mentorship to Discipline Engineers, fostering their professional development and expertise.
  • Design Standards Development: Leverage expertise to build, improve, and validate design standards for Newness levels 2-3, ensuring alignment with industry best practices and Valeo's strategic objectives.
  • Efficiency: Digitalization Roadmap Execution: Actively participate in the execution of the Discipline's Digitalization Roadmap, identifying and implementing opportunities for process improvement and automation.
  • Continuous Improvement: Analyze problem-solving outcomes to identify systemic issues and propose improvements to existing processes and methodologies.
  • Innovation: Innovative Solution Development: Propose and contribute to the development of innovative solutions to engineering challenges, leveraging existing technologies and methodologies.
  • Intellectual Property Protection: Identify patentable inventions arising from innovative solutions and actively participate in the patent filing process (IP).
  • Collaboration and Influence: Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate effectively with engineers and stakeholders from other Disciplines to ensure seamless project execution and integrated solutions.
Candidate Profile

Associates Degree in Electronics or related field. 5 years experience in similar role, automotive experience preferred. The person must be able to demonstrate a level of commitment, initiative and quality of workmanship required within an R&D Environment. Experience with vision systems (camera, imager technology) preferred. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Confident, articulate, self motivated, determined & energetic. Self-starter, motivated individual who can work alone, with little supervision.
