Job summary

Amgen in Thousand Oaks, CA seeks a Project Manager to join our CMCi Integrated Portfolio Advancement team. You will develop and maintain project schedules for Amgen pipeline projects, aligning PD activities with business priorities and managing cross-functional deliverables.

Working with Global Operations and PD leads, you’ll identify dependencies, assess risks, and communicate status to stakeholders. This role emphasizes collaboration, governance navigation, and actionable project outcomes.

Project Manager

What you will do

Let’s do this. Let’s change the world. In this vital role you will join our CMCi Integrated PortfolioAdvancement team. This role will be based on our main corporate campus in Thousand Oaks, CA and will report to a Sr. Project Manager in the Pre-Pivotal, Late stage and Life Cycle Management (LCM) IPA team in Process Development. The Project Manager (PM) willbe responsible forintegrating Process Development (PD) activities by developing andmaintainingproject schedules for Amgen pipeline projects. This Project Manager will have a significant focus on supporting programs in the Pre-Pivotal, Pivotal (late stage) and/or Life Cycle Management (LCM) phases of development.Working with the Global Operations Leader and other members of the Product Delivery Team, the PM develops and aligns plans and schedules for PD activities with business priorities.The PM captures associated project risks, develops mitigation plans and communicates project status clearly toimpactedstakeholders. The PM assists with driving decision making for the project and ensures that action items are captured and tracked to completion. The PM partners with PD technical leads toidentifykey deliverables and activities to be completed,identifiesdependencies, andoptimizesthe sequence of project activities. The PM ensures cross-functional alignment through the integration of interdependent activities and through the communication of plans and timelines, with specific emphasis on critical path activities. The PM assists PD technical leads with tracking the execution of required deliverables andassistswith navigating project teams through corporate governance. The PM collects,digestsand assembles information to enable relevant business analysis and influence decision-making. The PM willleveragesoft skills, technical knowledge, and leadership attributes to influence positive project outcomes.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Work with technical and/or Product Delivery Teams by creating project schedules/resources that align with PD prioritization

• Support projects thatutilizeinternal and external personnel, contract firms, and partners

• Assist PD in driving decision making using DAI principles (D- Decision maker, A- Advice Giver, I- Informed) by producing risk analyses and scenario planning

• Ensure participation in functional and cross-functional management reviews

• Establish and manage collaboration and team SharePoint sites

• Provide meeting management support including meeting planning, scheduling, facilitation, documentation (development of meeting agenda and minutes), and outcomes communication

• Ensure product project reporting

• Manage and prioritize support of multiple project teams at one time

• Facilitate and incorporate lessons learned, best practices, etc.

• Support business process improvements

Basic Qualifications:

Doctorate degree
OR
Master’s degree and 3 years of Project management experience
OR
Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of Project management experience
OR
Associate’s degree and 10 years of Project management experience
OR
High school diploma / GED and 12 years Project management experience

In addition to meeting at least one of the above requirements, you must have experience directly managing people and/or leadership experience leading teams, projects, programs, or directing the allocation or resources. Your managerial experience may run concurrently with the required technical experience referenced above

Preferred Qualifications:

• 10+ years of experience in Pharmaceutical,Biotechnologyor another Healthcare-related field
• Direct CMC experience
• Experience in an environment requiring one to foster collaboration and work effectively on cross-functional teams
• Strong interpersonal and communication experience with the ability to effectivelyinterface acrossall levels of the organization
• Experienceutilizingcritical thinking and problem-solving skills to achieve results
