Job summary

Gensler Project Manager in our Tampa office leads all phases of complex workplace projects for Office, Technology, Financial Services, and Professional Services clients. You will drive client satisfaction, design quality, and project financial performance from concept through completion.

This role places you at the heart of a creative, collaborative team, delivering trendsetting architectural projects that shape the future of work across industries. Relocation friendly for non-local candidates.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Interior Design, or a related field from an accredited university.
  • 10+ years of related project management experience on a range of architecture projects with focus on commercial workplace interiors.
  • Professional license or certification preferred.
  • LEED accreditation preferred.
  • Experience negotiating project scope, fees, and managing project financial performance.

Responsibilities

  • Lead client projects and accounts, communicating objectives, scope, terms, and schedule to clients, consultants and project teams.
  • Manage project schedules, budgets, staffing, and setup with clients, sub-contractors, vendors and contractors.
  • Prepare project proposals, negotiate contracts and fees; bid projects to multiple general contractors.
  • Track financial performance: work plan, schedule, fees, revenue, change orders, billings and collections.
  • Oversee project lifecycle: estimating, bidding, kickoff, weekly coordination, punch list, turnover, opening, close-out.

Your Role

As a Gensler Project Manager within our Tampa office, you will lead all phases of complex workplace projects for Office, Technology, Financial Services, and Professional Services clients. You will be responsible for driving client satisfaction, design quality, and project financial performance while ensuring seamless project execution from concept through completion. As the primary liaison between clients and project teams, you will strategically deploy resources, foster collaboration, and guide projects to successful outcomes.

What You Will Do
  • Manage and lead one or more client projects and accounts through the leadership of project teams; Provide leadership to client and team by communicating project objectives, contract scope, terms, and schedule main point of contact for client, consultants and project team
  • Manage project schedules, budgets, staffing, and project set-up with clients, sub-contractors, vendors and contractors
  • Prepare project proposals and negotiate contracts and fees; bid projects to multiple general contractors
  • Track and manage financial performance of project for success (e.g., work plan, schedule, fees, revenue, change orders, billings and collections)
  • Manage project lifecycle; estimating, bidding, project kick-off, weekly coordination, punch list, turnover, opening, and project close-out
Your Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Interior Design, or a related field from an accredited university
  • 10+ years of related project management experience on a range of architecture projects including recent comprehensive experience focused on commercial workplace interiors
  • Professional license or certification preferred
  • LEED accreditation preferred
  • Experience negotiating project scope, fees, managing project financial performance, and ensuring fiscal responsibility for projects
  • Experience with the full project lifecycle, through post-occupancy
  • Knowledge of building codes, standards, and building structures
  • Basic technical understanding of architectural design, interior and furniture design
  • Experience with project management software such as MS Project, a plus
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit
  • At Gensler a Project Manager will have the job title of Design Manager and operate in this capacity for alignment with internal programs, doing business with clients and compliance with industry and government regulations.
