Job summary

Programming.com in South San Francisco is seeking a seasoned Project Manager to lead complex R&D and product operations programs. This role requires coordinating multidisciplinary teams across pharma/biotech, engineering, and operations to drive milestones and outcomes on tight timelines.

You will establish clear project structures, manage dependencies, and mitigate risks while translating qualitative research insights into strategic recommendations for executives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant field.
• 5+ years PM experience in operations, user research operations, or product operations in healthcare or life sciences.
• Experience leading complex R&D, technology, robotics, lab automation, or AI programs in pharma/biotech.
• Ability to establish project structure, manage cross-functional dependencies, mitigate risks, and bring order to ambiguous work.
• Strong facilitation and communication skills; turn qualitative feedback into executive-level insights.

Education & Experience

• Education: Bachelor’s degree or higher; MBA or certification such as PMP, Six Sigma, Lean, Design Thinking, or Agile.
• Industry Experience: 5+ years of project management in operations, user research operations, or product operations in healthcare, life sciences, or a related field.

Skills

• Significant experience leading complex, multidisciplinary R&D, technology, robotics, lab automation, or AI programs in pharma/biotech.
• Proven ability to establish project structure, manage cross-functional dependencies, mitigate risks, and bring order to ambiguous work.
• Sufficient technical and scientific fluency to identify dependencies, ask critical questions, and facilitate decisions across matrixed teams.
• Track record of managing external vendors, systems integrators, and strategic technology partners.
• Proficiency in project management platforms (e.g., Jira, Monday.com, Tableau) and reporting workflows (Google Workspace).
• Experience organizing recurring pilots, studies, and workshops, with strong participant coordination and action tracking.
• Strong facilitation and communication skills, able to turn qualitative feedback into executive-level insights and recommendations.
• Ability to work independently on complex data problems in fluid, dynamic research environments.
• Team-oriented, with the ability to articulate challenges to scientific and engineering peers.
