Job summary

Actalent in Greenville, SC is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead major capital projects in the chemical and manufacturing sectors, from concept through completion, with a focus on safety, quality, profitability, and client satisfaction.

You will guide multi-disciplinary teams across engineering and construction, manage scope, schedules, budgets, and risk, and build strong client relationships while serving as a trusted advisor throughout the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited institution.
  • 10+ years of Project Management experience in consulting, engineering, chemical, or manufacturing environments.
  • Experience managing engineering and construction projects with scope, schedule, and budget responsibility.
  • Proficiency with Primavera P6 and project controls methodologies.
  • Understanding of A/E (Architect/Engineer), AEPCM, Design-Build, Construction Management delivery models.

Are you a seasoned Project Manager who thrives on delivering complex engineering and industrial projects from concept to completion? Do you enjoy leading multidisciplinary teams, building strong client relationships, and driving projects that make a measurable business impact?

We're seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead major projects within the chemical and manufacturing sectors. In this role, you'll have the opportunity to influence project strategy, drive innovation, and oversee the successful execution of engineering and construction initiatives while ensuring safety, quality, profitability, and client satisfaction.

This is more than project oversight. It's an opportunity to serve as a trusted advisor to clients, mentor project teams, and help shape the success of industry-leading projects.

What You'll Do

As the primary point of contact for project stakeholders, you'll take ownership of all phases of project execution while collaborating with engineering, construction, and business teams across multiple locations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of complex engineering and construction projects from initiation through closeout.
  • Coordinate project activities across multiple departments, disciplines, and business locations to ensure seamless execution.
  • Develop and oversee project scope, schedules, budgets, forecasts, communications plans, and resource requirements.
  • Drive project profitability while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, and technical excellence.
  • Review and approve project management deliverables, engineering documentation, drawings, specifications, and execution strategies.
  • Monitor project progress, proactively identify risks, and implement solutions to keep projects on track.
  • Manage scope changes, schedule impacts, and change authorization processes.
  • Guide contract development, proposal preparation, project specifications, and commercial negotiations.
  • Champion innovative and cost-effective project solutions that enhance productivity and reduce construction costs.
  • Build strong client relationships by serving as a trusted partner and strategic adviser throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Facilitate problem-solving initiatives and lead teams through complex technical and operational challenges.
  • Support business growth efforts through client engagement, relationship management, and project development activities.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited institution.
  • 10+ years of Project Management experience within consulting, engineering, chemical, or manufacturing environments.
  • Proven experience managing engineering and construction projects with responsibility for scope, schedule, budget, and client satisfaction.
  • Strong proficiency with Primavera P6 and project controls methodologies.
  • Solid understanding of project delivery models, including:
    • A/E (Architect/Engineer)
    • AEPCM
    • Design-Build
    • Construction Management (CM)
Preferred Qualifications
  • Professional Engineer (PE) License
  • PMP Certification
Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Greenville, SC.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $52.88 - $72.12/hr.
