Job summary

Gilbane Building Company in Santa Clara, CA seeks a Project Manager to support the Senior Project Manager and/or Project Manager II in directing, completing, and financially guiding a construction project. The role is on-site daily and central to the project team.

You will work with Sr. PMs and Executives, learning from experienced professionals through Gilbane University, and contributing to diverse projects such as schools, labs, hospitals, and offices.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering or Construction Management.
  • 4-7 years of experience in a related role.
  • Or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in preparation and administration of the project safety plan.
  • Assist in project controls and procedures, and manage established risk mitigation processes.
  • Create and follow through on potential change items and participate in verification of project financial forecast.
  • Create and manage a project-specific quality plan aligned with the owner contract and contract documents and assist with execution.
  • Create and manage a closeout plan in alignment with the contract documents and assist with execution.
  • Direct and supervise work of project administration, project superintendents, and engineers to establish operational priorities.
  • Assist in subcontracting strategy, support scope writing and deliverables to ensure the integrity of the buyout process.
  • Implements and enforces all aspects of contracts; participate in risk mitigation planning; prepare draft contracts and PO's.
  • Participate in enrollment for insurance and bonds; track and obtain trade contractors' compliance.
  • Provide support to develop project estimate, design coordination efforts, and GMP preparation.
  • Prepare monthly schedule updates, including schedule analysis and narratives for select packages.
  • Assist constructability and coordination reviews.
  • Develop understanding of local markets to assist networking strategy.
  • Train direct reports on processes, procedures, and completion of daily tasks.
  • Manage workload and performance of direct reports, ensuring alignment with company standards.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive work environment to motivate and engage team members.
  • Aid in communicating company and department strategy to direct reports.

Qualifications
EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering or Construction Management
  • 4-7 years of experience
  • Or equivalent combination of education and experience
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
  • Strong technical and communication skills are critical
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Knowledge of industry standard software, Microsoft Office (preferred)

Salary to be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, and/or experience of the applicant, as well as the internal equity and alignment with the team. The pay ranges from $160,000-$200,000 plus benefits and retirement program.
