MAI Construction, Inc. in San Jose, CA, seeks an experienced Construction Project Manager to lead budgeting, bidding, and delivery of complex life science projects from concept to closeout.
You will manage cost and schedule control, coordinate with subcontractors, and develop new clients while supporting existing relationships. Procore and MS Office proficiency, LEED a plus, are desirable.
Prepare and submit construction project budget estimates from drawings and specificationsOversee the planning and delivery of construction projects, from concept to closeout ensuringproject is completed on time and within budgetManage document control, including cost control, schedule control and change orderadministrationManage and estimate multiple projects concurrentlyIdentify and manage risks, including lead time assessments and site assessmentsAssist in RFP package preparationDevelop new clients while supporting and maintaining existing clientsParticipate in trade shows and industry organizations
Well versed in all aspects of project management including bidding, estimating, subcontracting, permitting, cost management, project documentation, scheduling, billing and close outBachelor’s degree with a preference in Construction Management or Engineering or equivalent experienceExperience in Life Science/Biotech projects is a plusExperience working under Plan Spec, MEP Design-Build and Design-BuildMinimum of 5 years experience in a similar roleProficient in Microsoft Office suite including Excel and ProjectProcore experience desiredGood understanding of all trades-including MEPStrong communication skills both verbal and writtenClient centered approach with a focus on customer development and satisfactionPossess a “do whatever it takes” attitudeDrives team forward by focusing on solutions and execution rather than constraintsCreative thinker who is willing to think outside the box to achieve client goalsAutonomous individual who enjoys working with a teamExcellent time management skills, fully able to set own scheduleLEED accreditation is a plus
