Office Location

San Jose, CA – Full‑time, onsite. Remote option is unavailable.

Job Summary

Therma has an immediate need for an experienced Project Manager who will be based out of the San Jose area and who enjoys the challenge of unique designs, projects and deadlines. The Project Manager will run jobs big and small, coordinate multiple jobs simultaneously, and lead large project teams. They will work with customers to develop the scope of work, budgeting and estimating costs, oversee preparation of documents and mechanical, piping, and plumbing project plans, assist in procurement, and manage project costs and resource requirements. The most important aspect of the job is providing customer satisfaction and maintaining effective communications with customers and project team members.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Develop professional communications with co‑workers and clients.
  • Make sales contacts, research customer needs and follow up on sales leads.
  • Maintain client relationships and assure client satisfaction.
  • Coordinate, utilize, and lead staff from all departments as needed for projects through the entirety of the project.
  • Prepare budget projections, control costs, and provide communications including memos, contracts, change orders, strategies and the like to ensure best practices and legal protection.
  • Meet established revenue and profit goals.
  • Attend client project meetings.
  • Be on job sites during construction activities and during critical project times.
  • Establish, manage and provide leadership to job/project team.
  • Facilitate and troubleshoot problems associated with the project.
  • Purchase materials and equipment as needed.
  • Maintain control and accurate projections of project costs.
  • Be conscious of budgets and project costs and the ability to value engineer.
  • Assemble and review submittals with the client and installation crew.
  • Communicate with the client and troubleshoot technical issues on projects.
  • Cost out change orders and present them to the client.
  • Track material costs and labor hours when necessary.
  • Redline and mark up drawings as needed.
  • Provide department leadership by example and mentoring.
  • Support accountability for individual projects as well as the MEP department in general.
  • Follow established Therma Project Management procedures.
Qualifications
  • 5+ years experience as a Project Manager in HVAC Mechanical / Plumbing industry.
  • Ability to operate independently and autonomously while knowing when it is appropriate to consult with others.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Salary and Bonus

Salary: $125,000–$175,000 depending on experience. This role is also eligible for an annual performance‑based bonus. Bonus eligibility and payout are determined by role, individual performance, and company performance, and are not guaranteed.

Benefits Overview

401(k) Plan with Company Match – Currently match contributions dollar‑for‑dollar up to 4% of eligible pay; immediate vesting.
